Does anyone have a 35 mounted on the front rail? Just wanted to see if the softopper would clear it.

My Softopper arrived two days ago. Today the weather was nice enough to put it on. It’s definitely a nice addition to the truck. I still need to adjust it a little to get the wrinkles out of the sides but I’m already lovin’ how it looks.Only change I might make to it is remove those bright white logos.

Give it a week or so. Might go away on their own.

You’re right. The passenger side already looks better. The driver side is getting there. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah time and sunlight are your friend when it comes to smoothing out the ST. It will settle on its own, in a week it'll be perfect.

Thanks for the input. This is my first Softopper so still getting used to it. Think I’ll wait a week or so and then so the seam sealer. One thing I did do was remove the logos… They were a little too bright white on the truck. :D
did that today after I installed the RSG sliders.

Too bad you didn't do the seam sealer first.
The best way I've found to do it, was to lay out the topper canvas upside down on the living room floor and seal each & every seam. That way it is in a controlled environment and kept dry until cured. Also allows you to get into the edges of the seams really really well.
Mine was sealed in 2017 and still has not leaked a single drop (even through some VERY heavy rain storms), except at the straps. But now those are sealed properly too and no longer leak.

I wanted to wait a little bit and let the topper stretch out a little. Not supposed to rain in my area for the next week or so. With only four bolts to remove the entire frame, I was playing with the idea or removing the entire thing, still assembled, and flip it over in my garage to apply the seam sealer. That way everything is stretched the way it will be on the truck. And, to your point, it will be much easier to get to all the seams. If I try this, I'll report back to the thread if its worth doing.

Just apply it from inside the topper/bed. That's what I did at least

I've heard the seam sealer Softopper supplies is good stuff. How was it applying with that bottle upside down in the bed of the truck?

How do these soft toppers hold up in a car wash? I live in upstate NY so during the winter I usually go through the car wash twice a week to get the salt/chemicals off.

I’ve ran mine through a drive through car wash once. It left a weird grayish haze on it.

I'm not comfortable trying one. I wash by hand every time. I don't trust the downward pressure off the overhead roller brush not to push too hard.

Put this baby on last week… I love the way it looks! I am seeing it flap open a little in the back a little when I’m driving on the freeway, but I did do the dog front window cut out so I’m assuming it’s just flowing through the back end as it’s even less waterproof now that I’ve cut that part open. Nonetheless, still loving the way it looks. What have you guys done to avoid it flapping around? I didn’t want to use the Velcro on the tailgate… saw some people do the magnets too?

Re: car wash, I've done it but if feels like the whole thing gonna rip off. No damage, though.

The car wash really didn't do a good job of cleaning the ST though... All the mud I had wanted to get off was still caked in. I had to spot hit it by hand (using really diluted Simple Green and a rag that wouldn't shed).

    Edit: brush car wash
