That is definitely something I would do if possible but I am having to order mine remotely as I am living out of the country for the next year. When/if mine is delivered, my son will pick it up for me and park it at my house.

Do the last 6 of the permanent vin mean anything? Temp vin 01 went invalid on the 12th, new vin works as of the 13th. New Vin starts with 06, dealer said Feb 22-28 delivery range, before the permanent vin was issued.

I’m so bored of waiting that I’ve gone through each color about five times. How long before I switch back from white to electric lime green? Maybe I should make a wheel spinner to put up here we can all use to build pretend Tacos.

if anyone is looking for full size trucks and you aren’t set on a specific brand..there are quite a few Rams in lots as of this week here in Utah. Now don’t get me wrong…. I’ve been a Toyota man since my parents bought our first Toyota in January of 77 (I was 4 and have owned many many Toyotas over the years). But I did get a ridiculously good deal on a Ram Sport 1500 Hemi in 2017 and bought it to flip it. Drove it for two years and it was great. Never had one issue and even my grumpy kids loved traveling in it. Just throwing it out there to try to be a good neighbor. I never even would have considered one if a friend hadn’t offered it at a stupidly low price. But it was the best non-Toyota I’ve ever owned (and I’ve driven them all). Now don’t go canceling your Toy to get one. But they are on the ground if you know of anyone who is looking. I hope this doesn’t get me banned! Just counting the seconds until my Pro (or Trail) shows up!

Our local Toyota truck center has more Rams than they have Tacomas.

Sounds about right. I'd almost expect 3 months.

Kinda funny you wrote this. I also owned a 2016 Ram, and it was a great truck. I see the local (cleveland) inventory is also stacked with them. Makes it tempting to cancel the taco and grab one off the lot. Buuuut I've always wanted a tacoma, 6 months since my initial deposit and no allocation yet. Winter boredom is ROUGH.

That’s unfortunate. I could’ve had an SR5 the day I started looking in my region. All they get are 2wd SR5s, that’s what makes it to the lot. 4wd I assume is what they are wanting?

    Here was my experience:

-Called on 10/19 and put a “deposit” down of $500 via CC but was never charged for a LR TRDOR 6MT
-Didn’t hear anything for ~3 months
-Called my sales person, told her I needed a truck and was willing to accept other colors. She told me there is a LR paint shortage, but she has my exact build but in red being built at the end of Jan.
-Got a spec sheet + vin. Should be here in Feb.

I also used the inventory spreadsheet from the other thread to track daily what trucks I could. It updates every morning and I would inquire about any truck that fit what I wanted. Unfortunately most of them were in the PNW, but I had fairly good results finding trucks that were not allocated yet.

    Good luck guys!

My TRD Sport just showed up in my dealers on-line inventory. So close.... lol

At least I now know the actual VIN now.

Interesting for the sales person saying there is a LR paint shortage.

I put my deposit down Dec 23rd for a TRD Sport 6AT in LR and it is due for delivery on Feb 8th (mine was already allocated, not sure if yours was)

Dealer called me this morning..Said delivery will be delayed 3 or 4 days. No problem, glad he let me know. He said the truck will come into Jacksonville Florida so I guess they might ship them by water? I was thinking they put them on trains so I guess it could still travel either way??

I never had a truck allocated to me. But I could believe it due to it being so popular. Idk.

I was told the same since AG and LR had been my top choices. Wound up with WCP, a colour I didn't even know existed. And I'm really cool with a Pansy Pearl truck.

Nice! I ordered mine about 10 days later. Does that mean I get mine in 10 days? Hahaha yeah right. I’ll be lucky if mine is a 2024.

As I understand it, you are correct. Considering there are only 9 pages in the WCP 3rd generation thread. And only 4 different trucks pictured. Lol

Well bumbed as I just checked and my truck still shows temp Vin so I think my dealer didn't know what he was talking about with a 1/11 build date, I think the temp Vin with 03 3rd week is going to be correct so hopefully by Wed I'll have a VIN!
