5mpg in a single trip? Bad gas.
    Problem solved.
    Close thread.

Maybe. Maybe not. But thanks for deciding what other people are allowed to discuss

But you still told me not to do something after complaining about me telling people not to do something. Don't be hypocritical.

I told you not to disparage those who express concerns about mpg. You okay after that harsh attack?

Maybe take your own advice on telling others what to do.

You seem really concerned with people being allowed to discuss what they want for someone who only a few posts ago was calling for the closure of the thread.

Not as concerned as you trying to redeem yourself after that hypocritical blunder you pulled.

LOTS of factors go into MPG, especially in the winter. Tire pressure and winter blend fuels are only part of the equation. You also have to consider idling/warming up and the cold, denser air itself. Your ECU will adjust as necessary and the colder it gets, the more fuel it will burn. Take the same drive at -5° F and at 65° F and even that will make a difference regardless of fuel.

A warm engine also makes a difference. My trip MPG reads significantly higher if I allow my truck to warm up before the trip as opposed to just setting out without warming up. Granted, that is only a computer estimate but it shows factors such as that make a difference.

Telling people not to disparage others isn’t the same as telling people they’re stupid for being concerned about fuel mileage, and you know that.

But you're still telling me what to do, after complaining about me telling people what to do. Are you only okay with it when it's you doing it?

I’m okay with it when it supports a place of positivity.

So only something you agree with. Got it. Very hypocritical.

Not at all. I enjoy opinions other than my own. I don’t enjoy people calling for threads to be closed just because it’s a subject you determine insignificant

So if a thread asked for the answer of 2+2, and someone said "4", what else would you want discussed on the thread? The answer has been given, no need for more. Instead you got butthurt and are continuously trying to redeem your honor or something.

Or people can continue discussing MPG without your negativity rolling in with nonsense like “people want Prius mpgs” (which nobody said) or “5mpg is insignificant” (it’s not, it’s 25% or more of consumption).

5mpg is insignificant on the one trip it was noticed because of the bad gas that was added.

Take the bad with the good. It's called "balance". If you're scared of a confrontation, maybe stay off the internet.

It might have been insignificant. It might not be. But nobody needs you calling for thread closure because you believe it is.

And if you can’t let people discuss things without acting like they’re stupid for doing so, maybe stay off the internet

And you don't need to call for this discussion to keep going just because you believe it's significant.
