One of my kids is into geology. So we were driving along and going up a ridge into West Little Rock and talking about how few tornadoes ever hit that area. He can explain it based on some prehistoric mountain ridge areas. The old-timers just knew the ridges to live near as the storms would split and follow a somewhat predictable path.

As it turns out, using one of the earth simulation models that shows the earth 50 million years, the part in light blue that was once underwater in the Mississippi delta is where a lot of storm activity happens today. The places with a lower amount of storm damage are in the areas where I placed the red dots.

It's on its way to TX now, someone from another forum is gonna fix it up. The transport driver seemed very unprepared. I had to drive it down the block and onto the trailer for him and he seemed nervous about having to unload it by himself lol

Washed and used some Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax last night on the 100. It had been a while since I last waxed it in August. I wanted to clean it up for Rigs and Coffee today. It turned out to be rain with some snow mix and I didn't go. This will seal up the paint for about a month until we get into mid-Feb and the weather clears so I can give it a better coat.

 

Interesting, I knew Texas was underwater at one point but didn't know Central CA was. Although I knew our deserts were so that makes sense

I watched a video recently about having to replace a steering rack.

Have to drop the front diff, remove both cv axles, and a bunch of other stuff.

Apparently, warranty pay is only 3hrs and they don't include diag in that.

I have 3/4 of these and a bunch of the matching lanterns still, never use em, they're inconvenient. But I can probably dig up parts if you need em

 

Yeah I think it's a cool old stove but ours is a pain to operate compared to more modern ones. Don't really see any reason to other than the cool factor of having a vintage camping stove.

I rarely go all out with cooking while camping anyway unless I'm with others that are into that sort of thing. Otherwise I just warm up a can of soup or put hot water in a freeze dried meal lol.
