I thought the Bajas had 650#/in springs and the Pros had 600#/in springs

That could be correct. Probably is. I know they are 500# difference and always get them confused

Those springs can indeed be swapped.

    Pro is 600lbs
    Baja is 650lbs

You can put any coilover spring in them. I don’t recall the unloaded size though.

    Thanks for confirming!

The Pro and Baja come at the same height, from the factory, right? So just different spring rates? That leads me to believe that maybe the lengths are different or perhaps the difference is with the shock? If the springs are the same length then it would make sense you could put the Baja spring on a Pro shock and you should get a little lift from the extra spring rate. But, if the lengths are different then it could make sense that if you swap them you'd end up with the same ride height but just different stiffness. Am I thinking about this correctly?

Yeah, I realize that they're setup for a standard coilover spring. But, it's that length part that's important. You can swap the spring rate all you want but if the length is wrong then it won't have the desired effect.

Yes they are the same height…..1.75”. The shocks should be the same.

Hmm. So if the shocks are the same then it sounds like the springs are different lengths to compensate for the spring rate. Eventually I'll have both mine pulled apart and will be able to confirm. Just not sure when I'll get around to it.

There are no differences in the shocks or spring size.

I wonder if the placements of the c-clips are different on the shock body. As in the if they’re slightly higher on the Pro than Baja

Doubtful. I don’t see bilstein moving the clip height by fractions of a millimeter to compensate for 50 inch lbs.

This is EXACTLY the type of thing I see an OEM doing. This is not something I'd expect straight from Bilstein but is something I would not be surprised about in the least from a team of Toyota engineers. I mean, they changed the valving, so why not some minor difference in length or clip placement? They also have different coating finishes. And obviously they are different part numbers.

If the trucks do come at the exact same height then there HAS to be a difference in either the shock or the spring. If the shocks are physically identical, the springs are exactly the same length and the only differences are valving and rate then Baja's and Pros would sit at slightly different heights. Which is totally possible, I can't verify either way but seems the consensus is that they are the same height.

    :notsure:

I guess the question is... how much height difference does 50lbs of spring make? I see people upping their springs by 50lbs to get some lift back so seems like it can't be that insignificant. I just don't have the first hand experience with these trucks to know.

I am no expert, but I think the springs are the same height, the difference is one results in a slightly stiffer ride experience.

Well I can verify that the pro shocks and 6112s have the same clip placement just the 6112 has more positions, obviously. I have a really hard time Toyota would change the clip placement. I have had the 6112 springs pro springs and Baja springs next to each other and they are all the exact same size.
