NC is right on the northern limit. Most everyone I know has one around here. Backup is electric coils in the air handler.

I actually use cast iron for all my toasting needs. Skillet Pop-Tarts are great.

I don't have that particular box but I have a black craftsman from 4~ years ago. It's pretty flimsy compared to my older husky and matco boxes.

The craftsman doesn't get any heavy tools due to the slides not feeling up to the task, it's stuff like drill bits and smaller tools

Good to know. I feel like a lot of the newer ones feel cheaper like that. There was a nice kobalt for a little more. But I think I may just wait look for a better deal.

What would you put in it?

I haven't looked at toolbox prices but it might not be a bad deal given how expensive everything seems to be now.

I don't live in Texas or Florida.
Many states require a backup heat source independent of electricity.

There's a big shop across from my house that was a Coleman facility. One of my old friends worked there back in the day.

I live in eastern WA, it gets cold here. Hardly anyone has a backup anymore, I mean I have a fireplace but I wouldnt count on it. This isnt CA, our power grid has extensive funding and tons of maintenance.

I've seen some screaming tool box deals on Craiglist, but you have to be on top of it. They sell fast.

I picked up an old NAPA chest for $50 that's beefier than anything at Lowes or Home Depot.

I also found a Stanley VIDMAR chest for $550 that's amazing for storing slightly larger items. It's the size of a refrigerator and each drawer is rated for like 400lbs. I'm storing barbell plates in one (although it does bind a little with that weight). VIDMARs have a pretty nice divider system, too.
