Did an oil change today. Man oh man are oil changes amazing on this Subaru when you have all the right equipment. Valvo Max did fantastic, vehicle specific funnel is the definition of perfection, and the fact that the oil filter is under the hood like second gen is the cherry on top.

Not much. A bit of fly fishing around here but that’s about it.

Took advantage of the nice-ish weather to finally get the truck washed. Spent a good 30 min vacuuming out the husky fur out of the inside. B0B38E84-CB77-4CC3-807B-E17240B9467E.jpg

Not last through the locks! We're beset in the ice for the night now. Coast Guard doesn't work at night and will have to break us out in the morning. At least there's good cell service!

Yeah, it gets tricky this time of year. We didn't get within 5 feet of the lock walls because of all the ice. But if the company can still make money they'll just have us deal with the problem!

Today's adventure! The fish pictures were heavily edited to make them easier to see but the water actually is that beautiful at Kitch-iti-kipi

Kitch-iti-kipi, I've been there a few times as a kid. I would like to take the wife there sometime.
That lighthouse, is that the one on the tip of the Stonington Peninsula at the end of county road 513?

Been to the lighthouse many times. I have relatives that have a "camp" a few miles north of the point, off of county road 511.

Okay, so back a few pages there was a discussion about the Mark Twain NF. November is definite no because of work; however, I have mapped out a route down first week in April. Two days (family stop in Des Moines) (and lunch stop in St Louis-Pappy's!) to a start on the TMOT. from there follow the TMOT to Bentonville.
    uploadadventure
Is helping. but what say you who have been there. Need ideas for MTB rides/trails, must see sites, must wheel roads etc. in the Mark Twain NF. This will all go into my plan and make it that much BETTER! Thanks in advance.
