Glad you're finally using your brain. All it takes is a little common sense, I'm proud of you.

That's about right. Longer warm up time, RVP (vapor fuel pressure) fuel mix (1.7% less energy) If you like your truck nice and warm before you go for a ride you are getting exactly zero miles per gallon all the time it sits their idling.

I've noticed a big hit on my mpg the last 2 tanks of gas. I usually buy from a shell station, and My mpg has dropped about 4-5 mpg on these last 2 tanks. No codes, engine idles and runs great, transmission shifts when it's supposed to, rpms are where they need to be. It has me stumped so I going to blame on more ethanol in winter blend gas. It really does suck though. Gone from 17 average just driving around to 12-13. Keeping an eye on things. Bone Stock 03 DC V6.

    Tire pressures normal?

do you have a scangauge or similar that can show you MPG once all the fluids are warm, or just calculating overall tank MPG?

Yep, nothing has changed except the milage. Scangauge is what I'm watching for the mpg. really strange. I've been buying my gas at this same station for years.

Excellent thoughts, tire pressure is oft overlooked in my experience.

Another reason I love my Ultragauge, ability to see real world. My wife's Rav4 will show instant and overall MPG which is helpful

And you don’t wince? Made of money? Glad I found out it was the station’s gas, not my engine. I was getting worse than winter blend loss.

In Tucson all the gas comes from the same place...so it literally makes no difference where you buy it from.

It's not ethanol they add it's butane. You need to look at a few things other than fuel mix it's less than a 2% hit

Circle K gas is questionable to begin with, along with USA gas and most mom and pop gas stops. 7/11 gas is probably the bare minimum you want to fill up with, try sticking with name brand gas.

I am not sure if it matters or not, but I have been splurging on ethanol free 90 octane gas for the last several tanks and have noticed no difference in fuel mileage as compared to late last summer. Boy, does my 2003 2.7 with 276K miles like the ethanol free gas. Better throttle response, smoother idle etc. But sure does cost more.

Nice to have the option..IDK if I would run it in my truck but at least for my small engine gear

Sheetz has been coming to central Ohio within the last year, all have 90 ethanol free.

Ethanol octane rating is 112 when mixed with gasoline, straight up 100. It is used to replace lead in gasoline it also is organic and renewable. Ethanol does exactly the same thing lead did, razes the octane rating. Because ethanol is a lot cheaper even if they allowed the fuel manufactures to add they lead they wouldn't.
