A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals! It's a windy one down here today, and going to be below the freezing tonight. Got to return the Adventure in moving, run and errand, cover some stuff and drip the faucets. If I don't blow away, that'll be a good day.

Welcome Willy-N, some great stuff you have there! Cooler is over by the steps, newbies have to help keep it filled. Some great, and easy to get along with folks here!

Mark, now how many people do you suppose have ever asked for part of a guardrail NOT to be installed, so they can mow?! o_O:thumbsup: Love it. Probably the only thread you'd find a comment like that!

All done pretending to be movers. Not ground floor. THIRD FLOOR. Thankfully, we met a young neighbor, and the wife and I had some cash! I'm still sore anyway.
Looking East, will be nice when the trees leaf out. That's the Darth Prius down below.

Have a great Saturday, and enjoy the Wide-Cards!

Wow my PTSD kicks in seeing how close those homes are. Not sure I could move into a city! Having a parking spot to park in seems strange to me now?

    :jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance:

I have accepted the fact that the little mods that take me forever on Little Big Red Taco are the extent of my skill set. But I sure do enjoy seeing great work, done with a ton of pride! Keep it up guys!

We have owned 95% of them imported to the U.S. and some at least once.
We have restored a few the way they should be done. This will be the last one.

The new bridge crossing our property was reopened...and I was there to make the first runs over the bridge. I think they overkilled the guardrails - the speed limit is 25 MPH on the road...and weve never seen anyone slide into the stream in the 53 years we've owned the property. I had to coerce them to curve the one side of the guardrail so I could get into a small piece on the opposite side of the stream so I could get in to cut the grass. They still have to finish cleaning up - coming back on Tuesday but we're supposed to have a bunch of snow before then so they'll be back again. It's nice not to have to detour around to get home or out.

Our house is on the upper left in this picture. The white farmhouse is the original home on the property and we own it, as well - Lynn's mom lives there. Total acreage for us is 65 - small but out of the way and peaceful.

Well at least they got it done.

There's a street in Salt Lake that has been under continual construction since before I graduated from high school. I sometimes wonder if it was on purpose so they could drive the Dragstrip out of town.

Damn, if that is not one of the most beautiful cars in the world! (I know, I say that every time!)

That looks safer than most of the durn skyway ramps they built. And it's on a gravel road? Will outlive all of us. But, the guardrail header will still have a hit within a month!!

Those are NICE!!! The only race car I have owned was a 1967 Shelby GT500 with Dual Quads! In it's time the fastest thing I ever drove. I traded a 69 Z28 Camaro for it. It was not babied either I road raced the crap out of it in 1973 being in the Army still at Ft Lewis, WA.

<<<Yellow Submarine. Here's a new one on me.
The wind has been so brutal today, that it has tipped the little rain bucket that is inside the Yellow Submarine. It normally fills with water, then dumps, measuring a certain amount. Dry as a bone today, and I have recorded 1.4"!! :rain:

You may call it "overkill" I call it a job well done - that probably will last 100+ years. Ok maybe a little overdone on the railing but compared to some of the CRAP that is called bridges in Mo --that is good engineering. I am sure different states handle these rural/county roads differently. Around here the county has to pay for these types of repairs, and many of these counties, don't have any funds. Reasons why? - nobody wants to pay for any new taxes to upgrade their roads and bridges. a fine example on the state level is our own I-70 across Mo. This interstate is long overdue for a rebuild/upgrade! Anyone that has driven across Mo can attest to this. Also I-44 is also need ing the same upgrades. I'll stop preaching now.

Hi Mark. Been around... Family is good.... 6 yo grand getting over this stupid virus that one of his classmates shared by not wearing a mask...

    Nice house and bridge

They started raising our gas taxes 5 years ago - $.02 per year, (so now up to $.10 per gallon) so they should have had some $$ to repair roads.... they keep complaining they have no $$ to fix the roads. Where the H3!! are my taxes going???

Good morning fellow Porchatonians and welcome to the beginning of the next Wheel of Weather for us here in northeast PA!!!

The predictions for this storm have been changing almost hourly. As of now, we're currently predicted for 4 to 6" of snow mixed with sleet/ice with temps hitting 37 on Monday. I hate the sleet/ice and the resulting luge run of my driveway - give me the snow anytime.

Lynn and I went out to church last night - over the new bridge - and afterwards stopped at a local pizza place and picked up an antipasto salad and a pizza for us and a small pizza for Lynn's mom. We settled in and ate while watching the football game. Life is good!

    Be safe out there!!

    Morning
-7° with a wind chill of friggin cold.
Will watch this storm coming and see how I’ll prepare.
Have to install a brake hydraulic assemble in a Prius tomorrow night.
Won’t get it all done but if I can get it out and the unit set in place I’ll be happy.
    Finish it Tuesday..
Taking the weekend off from the gym.
Went Friday instead of yesterday so I didn’t have to worry about a cold 10 min drive with a 30 min warm up lol.
I think My main goal today is to sit on my ass and watch tv.
    Be safe everyone

Back in the day I worked for the phone company as a residential installer repairman. I can tell you, in a 3-story red brick walk up apartment building the people living on the 1st floor hardly ever move. Have a great Sunday!

Thanks for sharing the pics Mike. You and your team do a great job of stewardship for the historic Toyota GT's.

Glad to see the bridge is completed Mark. Pretty much on the time schedule you mentioned at the beginning of the bridge replacement project. Nice to see PA state using gas tax money for what it is intended. The PA gas tax is higher than NY. I travel to Michigan three times a year and always make sure I have enough gas so I fo not have to stop for gas in PA. On the turnpike the gas is 40 cents more per gallon in PA than in Ohio.

Locally we have a road, small 2 lane. with an old style, historic, bridge across a small stream, at this point the Patuxent River is small, in need of replacement. The bridge is so old it was flagged as unsafe and closed. The road is a nice alternative to travel to Annapolis and Edgewater MD. The Patuxent River is the county boundry between Anne Arundel and Prince Georges counties. Not only are the two counties at a disagreement about the repairs, throw in the Federal Government and the EPA, habitat preservation for aquatic life, nothing is being done and the bridge has been closed for close to 10 years now. I always liked to take the road because there are no dividing lines between the roadsides and the bridge will only allow one car to cross at a time. The bridge is not wide enough for two cars to pass.

Everyone have a great Sunday! It is only 15 degrees here this morning. We are expecting snow, rain, sleet, and freezing rain later on this afternoon. The severity of the weather is consistently being downgraded. We started out, on Friday, with 6 in of snow possible down to 1 in of snow. The warm air coming in from the Atlantic Ocean is controlling the weather today.
