what do you mean, what do I mean??? With the TruTrac you need to disable it for best results. If his vsc isnt working then the trutrac will take care having a limited slip.

How do you go about disabling just the VSC only ?

Initially it will just show the VSC light that usually comes up when actively being used as always on, meaning no VSC ever. But after you drive for a few minutes the brake light comes on and then if you shut it of then on again it will show brake and abs light. HOWEVER there was a guy on the FJ forum that had a switch he made that made the VSC shut off totally but did not affect the other units. I believe it had something to do with how the master received the info from the sensors

Last time I checked the vsc controls the vehicle from sliding and loosing traction by regulating the engine and also applying brakes to the wheel that is spinning too fast. The Detroit TruTrac mechanically controls the spin of the wheels and does a better job of it. If you think that it saves you from crashing your vehicle then you better go back to school and learn how to drive. Certainly you have mastered controlling your own gas pedal by now.

I switch my vsc off all the time especially in snow. I think it creates a dangerous situation by killing the engine. Once again if you know how to drive and you have taken the time to study the way your vehicle behaves you wouldnt have to rely on vsc for shutting your engine off. I like knowing when my rear wheels are going to break traction this way I can compensate for myself and make the adjustments. Just my opinion. Pretty much you just repeated what you quoted me on. I stated that VSC controls wheel spin with brakes and engine so I think I have somewhat of an idea how it works.

But the problem was in your post you were saying "if VSC isn't working"....

And what the other person was trying to tell you is your giving an opinion without knowing what the topic actually was.
Also I think when your saying you shut off your VSC you may just be shutting down your traction control. To shut down VSC you must unplug the sensors or disconnect the plug fr the master. ?

Possibly a little confusing. If I hold my VSC button in for 3 seconds the light on the guage comes on that says off. When I do this my engine no longer shuts down when I break traction on both rear wheels. If the op is out of warranty and the vsc is not working then by intalling a trutrac at least you get a great LSD.

Ok dude, I am going to run it down since you missed the ENTIRE POST and or dont get it or have read it properly.

The vsc was breaking the wheels and engine ALL THE TIME. It was breaking the tires and engine if you turned the wheel to PARK THE CAR. SO please understand that was the issue not anything your talking about. You really need to actually read the posts if your going to comment. All comments are appreciated but only when on topic. You may be trying to help but your not even talking about the same thing. You talking about something totally different

Secondly your not actually shutting down your vsc you just allowing your rear wheels to break free. Your vsc is still active but your telling it that your allowing your wheels to spin. Your yaw is still active. You still have vsc enabled. The only way to actually shut it down is to disconnect the sensors or unplug the cable from the master.

If my problem was that my vsc was shut off, and i had NO warning lights, I would be having a field day. I have an audi rs4 and love drifting..... My taco would be sideways everywhere.

    Update

So now that I have had the sensors all re-set and the computer is doing fine I wanted to report what I have found about my 09 with VSC. I can not get the VSC to turn on anymore unless the TOYOTA logo on the wheel is past 95 degrees in either direction and I am going over 40 mph. When it has kicked on, it has been due to insane turns and I was speeding. This is a huge improvement. Now I still have my lift and everything including mud tires, so until I replace my tires I will assume this should stay the same. I do not think it will change much as its the yaw that is sensing. I am very happy with the result and suggest this to all lifted 09+

I just ordered a set of 285/65/16 Duratracs so when I get them on I will update this again.

Also in the summer I remove the truck "cap" so I will update there aswell. I see that the cap is roughly 250lbs and that may change how the yaw set is.
