    2022 Lunar Rock OR Manual
So just sold my 2019 Ram 1500 and got a brand new Taco. 2022 TRD OR Lunar rock (color is absolutely gorgeous) with a manual. Some things I am planning on changing and would like suggestions on where to go and what model or kind of thing to get. So here goes my list so far.

    1. Bed Cover (no idea if I want hard or soft, but I don't think ill use the bed too often)
    2. Bed mat (probably going to get the factory one but open to other suggestions)
    3. Black Rims/Tires (will keep the old ones and leave 1 or 2 in the bed in case of a flat)
    4. Light bar in the front (no idea if I want roof or bumper one, kinda like the bumper ones more)
    5. Sequential Turn signals on mirror/headlamps? Not sure if the headlights are possible.
    6. Skid plates
    7. Possibly New front bumper or at least a push bar to attach a winch too
    8. Steps or tubes.
    9. Led inside lights
    10. CHROME DELETE INSIDE. I hate chrome. Hate it with a passion. So door handles and trim around the vents/knobs, can we get rid of this stuff and if so how because its the only thing I don't care for other than no remote start.
    11. Upgrade on the stereo. (will be one of the last things I do unless the factory one craps out)

I am not buying this all at once as I would go broke if I did. Just putting together a list of parts/items that I can keep in mind and reference to when I get to buying that part/item. I am also getting it ceramic coated, undercoated, and window tint after it gets lifted. Lifted is the first thing and then some of the smaller things like bed cover/mat and sequential lights. Rims/wheels will be a few months probably and so will the front bumper depending on cost. Also open to other little things that can be customized inside and out!

Clutch accumulator delete should be your first mod.

Second should be to get it tuned. I recommend Coyoza.

A push bar is a huge waste and is only going to cause problems. Get a real bumper for a winch.

Skip the steps and get sliders, theyre worth the extra money especially if you think you'll be in a situation where you'll need a winch.

LED headlight turns are sequential from the factory. Mirrors are cheap from Amazon.

You'll probably need new front suspension if you add a bumper and winch.

Also, get the wheel vinyls for now, like $35 and look pretty alright until you can get new rims.

The first 2 things you should do right away are-
    Clutch Accumulator Delete Mod (ADM)
Getting a tune, I have OV 2.0 on mine

Those two mods make the truck way more enjoyable to drive.

Clutch accumulator delete, is that why the clutch feels so freaking soft and squishy??
I was not aware you could tune a manual but will look into that for sure.
Recommendations for the bumper then? I seen one that I liked but cant remember who made it.
Will look into sliders as well.
I found the mirror signals on TacoGarage and a few other things but unfortunately everything was sold out except one.
I assume new front suspension because of the added weight? Or another reason?

Yes the accumulator basically removes and clutch feel and makes shifting clunky and inconsistent. Costs like $15 and 30mins to do.

The tune does a lot, but my favorite thing is that it smooths out the power band and you actually get power at around 1500rpm rather than the lightswitch feel at ~3500rpm.

Depends what you're looking for in a bumper. I personally like the SSO Slimline or the SOS lopro bumpers.

Yes, a bumper plus winch (plus skids and sliders) is a ton of weight on the front end and is going to cause alot of sag. Also because I hated how soft the stock OR suspension was. The pillow like glide was nice, but the body roll and brake dive were not.

Those look nice! And they are a bit cheaper there. Where is that company based out of? Their website doesnt say. Did you buy the big turn signal as mirror as well or just the backpart of the mirror?

great list. ADM first for any MT that is driven be someone who likes to drive MTs.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/

a tune definitely will improve everything in your life. Coyoza is indeed great. but KD Pro is now better than Coyoza for the MT in every way.

OP, your truck can be the most fun vehicle you've ever had, so don't be afraid to dig into more than the aesthetics and drive the crap out of it to find out what you like.

I do enjoy manuals. Thats the entire reason I bought my Tacoma is because I wanted a manual and the only truck still produced in manual is the Tacoma. Had some friends telling me about their experience with their toyota trucks (Tacomas and tundras) and they all told me the same thing. They love them. So I drove a few and really enjoyed them. Size wise its smaller than my previous truck but I dont mind it at all. The tuning I am looking into now and its interesting. The KD Pro website and looking at the closest one, they are 3 hours away. Hell I bought the truck down in Baltimore and I should have just scheduled to get it tuned after I drove it off the lot!

It is an Asian based company but does have distribution in the US.
The mirrors with the embedded LED sequential arrow are tinted to reduce glare and are convex so they show a wider angle to the sides of the truck.

not sure how into the process you wish to be, but one option i recommend is to purchase the vF software bundle yourself, purchase the tune file separately, then upload the tune to the truck on your own. you won't be reliant on tuners and fees, scheduling issues, etc. and if a tuner updates his file or you just want to try another, just pay and get the file over the net and flash away on your own schedule.

if you go this route you can also have access to editable tunes if you are interested in that. speaking for myself, i have done a lot of tuning on my truck and know that easy access, having the software in hand, is the best way forward.

To be honest I am more of a set it and forget it kind of person. So I would simply find what I like and what works best for me and then once I find it. Probably never change it. Or maybe change it in 5-10 years. I also dont have a laptop, only a desktop, at least from the looks of it I will need a laptop to install it. I could be wrong though.

well then, you are why tuners exist. that's the convenient way for you. just get clear on what you want in your tune so you don't need to do it twice. the tuners will walk you through the process.

but get that ADM done so you can get to know your MT!

Talking with my much more truck savy friend about it right now! Someone mentioned earlier it costs maybe $15 or so and about 30 minutes so probably gonna do that this coming weekend and then get it tuned!
