@fatfurious2 David, tldr = I'm a hard probable now, borderline maybe.

    The long story............

    20220114_083914.jpg

Torn Rotator Cuff, 4cm + tear, atrophied bicep. Recovery could be as long as 6 mos with PT.

My honey do list has things on it that need to occur prior to the surgery because they can't wait until summer. A lot of things. Some of the more critical are, removing the belly mower from the garden tractor and making sure it's ready to mow in the spring. Then install the snow blower, and fix the engine shroud mounting tab I broke off. Replace the non-working bathroom exhaust fan/light, from inside the attic! Lay about 600# of cold patch in my driveway. Finish cutting down the tree in the front yard.

I also need (wanted) to work on a mod to stow my hi-lift, shovel & axe. I just need some T nuts and flat bar. Not a big deal but the jack should be in the truck, not the garage. Everything else I had planned on doing can & will have to wait until summer. Unless you get bored.

When I originally injured it, I had xrays (their choice), and was told that they didn't show any damage, that it was likely just bruised. The pain ain't harsh all the time, but there are times (like now) it's unbearable and keeps me awake all night.

This is my third R/C surgery. The first one was on this same shoulder it was a normal R/C surgery. Second time was on the left shoulder and we were in the OR nearly 6 hours. It was severe enough to cause damage to the bicep. He's telling me this right side is going to be similar to that, but in addition, since this is a re-repair they have to also add a patch over the torn ligament to beef it up.

Covid protocol for hospitals here dictates all elective surgeries are to be postponed until further notice.

The severity and size of the tear, the atrophy, the impingement/circulation issues, allows them to get an approval from the hospital to move forward.

I've known all this since last Thursday but have been making myself sick trying to decide what to do. The doc said I need to be extra careful not to be exposed because we could be pushed into spring or summer if I for get the Rona.

What do I do David? Come and take the chance or play it safe?

I recently used a surgical center. All I needed was a PCR test. In and out, no issues, they were way more professional than my hospital experiences.

    Is that an outpatient surgery?

Yes, outpatient. Anything else needs to be critical need. I fall just below that, and being an outpatient is what worked to my favor.

If it wasn't for the bicep, and the need for this "additional patch" he said he could do it at his main office. Towson Orthopedic's are well known here. I don't give AF if he does it in the parking lot behind the dumpster if it stops the pain. If it wasn't for our dogs keeping me busy and happy, I'd likely have lost my mind by now.

I'm not a fan of being in a hospital for anything, any time, but especially during these times. I'm vaccinated and booster'ed and don't care because I'll be the first to say it's no guarantee.............anyway.

I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Rob, and I've only been here since 2017. David @fatfurious2 found me wandering about aimlessly and showed me the way.

That's another reason I'm scared of coming to the event. I know David is a hugger, and so am I. But he likes to wrap a leg too and that's too close for far too long.

The rest of you that do it know who you are too :spy:

I had to have surgery myself which has left my top-end exposed preparing for supercharger install.
Still coming, but I’ll be bringing the hotrod instead.

I had all sorts of large items I was going to list for sale, but can only manage a few smaller items that didn’t need servicing.

    Pelfrey Battery Tray Group31
    URD Y pipe freshly re-cerakoted
Super bumps, front in good shape
Wilwood Big Brakes, front, black, used, less than 3000 miles
    ADD W1 universal catch can
    MESO TRD center caps
4Runner OEM air box and intake

I was planning on rebuilding and refinishing replacement Icon coilovers and rear hydro bumps, but can’t wrench on stuff like that right now.

Sorry to hear this @RobP62. I’d recommend be safer, just in case. It’s not an easy choice. I’d still like to as well, but it’s looking less and less likely. With the changes that were made to my kids basketball protocols, my wife can’t bring her friend and let me get out of the game Saturday.

Wear a mask, keep your distance. I’ve been traveling through airports non-stop the last 22 months and I’ve yet to catch the rona cause I wear a mask and don’t let strangers spit on me.

    Sold, bring them please.

I went triple and almost suffocated.

I can trust country boys like you. It's those other guys I worry about.

This looks very versatile. And kinky.

I wouldn't care if I was having the surgery before eating cheesesteaks. How much for the front bumps?

@fatfurious2 doesn't care about my well being Eric. At least you do.

Hi Shay, I'm Rob, I feel like we've known each other for ever!

Yea, coming down good up here too. About 2" already. Coming down fast. Small flakes.

I can get on board with that, can you point in the direction of a good exhaust shop? That may not bolt right up to my current setup.
