Why do you need to add bushings to the 5100's? Mine came with bushings.

on the Down South motorsports site, where I also just ordered some billies, it states that the new billies dont come with bushings but you can use your factory bushings if they are still in good condition.

I think they are talking about the upper shock mount...which yes you need to re-use your stock upper mounts.

ok well i have no suspension experience, although i dont think it will be difficult to change the shocks out. im a mechanic in the military so its not my first time picking up a wrench. i guess when i get them in the mail later this week i will post a pictures and somebody can chime in on what i need off the stock shocks

I reused my stock bushings. It's fairly obvious what to do once you actually have the stock shocks off of the truck.

    Yep.

    And a few tips:

-Have two floor jacks and also use your stock bottle jack.
-Remove your sway bar completely (it gets in the way when trying to install and remove the shock assembly)
    -Seperate your upper ball joint

use a floor jack and the stock bottle jack to reconnect the knuckle to the UCA.

True statement. I just did mine last week and I had zero experience wrenching on suspension components. My skill level previously didn't extend past oil changes. Once I pulled the stock coilover out, I just laid the pieces out in the order they came off and reversed that procedure when rebuilding the 5100 coiloer.

This is crucial. I found this out the hard way. After my buddy and myself both tugging really hard on the UCA and LCA, we figured it out to use a floor jack and 4x4 to push the LCA up to the UCA.

I also used the base lift and tools. They have everything you could possibly need. The 2-post lift worked perfect and made this job a ton easier.

A recommendation. If you have a skid plate I'd recommend removing it to remove the sway bar. I first tried to undo the sway bar without removing the skit plate. I was successful, but upon putting everything back together, it proved to be a major PITA. I finally ended up removing it to make things easier.

Yep...I forgot to elaborate on "removing" the sway bar. I had to remove my skid plate anyways to do the diff drop.
