Every time I see this come up I think about what all I carry all the time. There’s a lot… flashlight, dewalt 20v work light with battery, hatchet, blanket, fire starters and lighter, small compressor, gloves and hats, ratchet straps and bungee cords, knife, multi tool, sun screen, deep woods deet bug repellent… there’s more I’m sure.

I never set out to make a list and pack this stuff… it’s stuff I packed depending on what we were getting into. This stuff now stays in the truck, and we use most of it from time to time. We do outdoor stuff all the time so it’s easier to leave it in the truck all the time. The bonus is it doubles as emergency supplies if the need ever arises.

I mean, yes, but you have to be prepared to transport too and sometimes spills happen. Shovel and a saw/axe?
Also, nightvision, gloves, and a suppressor (wrap your firing hand in bag to catch brass)
Plenty of options up here in Montana ;)

I swear I thought I was the only one who still owned a Gerber MP600. Mine is old school. Was issued to me. Still by far the BEST multi-tool ever. I carry a Leatherman in my pocket only because it has a pocket clip, but the MP600 is attached to my EDC bag.

Honestly, your carry is not that crazy. I carry more. Not even going to try and list most of it lol. Not as many tools as far as impacts and such, but still enough for basic recovery stuff. Cold weather gear and a survival pack (don't overthink it here - survival packs should be simple and lightweight). But yea, I carry just as much stuff. In areas where no cell service exists and you might not see a person for days, it's smart to be prepared. Also, storage is simple and when done right, not really that much weight at all. My tires weigh more than all my other stuff. Guns and ammo I got plentiful ;)

I keep stuff on the passenger seat too. My EDC pack goes there (secondary pistol and ammo w/ other stuff as well as storage for small items I pick up during errands) and I have an organizer that holds random stuff like small towels (always good to have a towel) and sanitary stuff. It also holds my water bottle that I use to refill my yeti cup.

    Don't forget buttwipes and sanitzier.

EDC catches a lot of hate. There are always people who want to be underprepared and are proud of it. Haters gonna hate, until they need to make costco runs in gas masks and hazmat suits... How soon they forget. (btw, not saying I ever did that nor would I need to - I'd just wait until you idiots die off then it's free range and your shelter becomes my shelter too)

I have 2 MP600s. I’ve given them as gifts. They are are lifesaver. When I worked on low volt lighting systems, I could about 90% of my job with that alone. One stays in the truck, the other is in my travel bag. What I made sure I did with my setup tho was it’s all shit I use fairly regularly, and if you got in my truck, you’d never know any of it was there. In my travel bag, it’s only shit I use everyday with the exception of a trauma kit and I’m happy I don’t have to use that daily. But purpose built is the key. Anyone can strap a bunch of shit to their body or truck and not have a clue on what to do with it. You see it here, lifted off road rigs that never leave the pavement….

I've always preferred this style to others because of it's one hand deployment capability.

They won’t sell me the blasting cap model. I don’t have the service credentials. If you’re a current or former serviceman or woman, thank you.

I actually have a pretty robust bug out setup in my truck but it's all contained either behind or under the rear seats. The goal being enough critical supplies and gear to get by for a few days while we make our way to my cabin in the mountains. Once there, I have stores to sustain us for a good while.

If I sound like a prepper, then I guess I am! But I honestly think we are just a news cycle or two away from complete societal breakdown. If that happens, the shits going to hit the fan fast and you won't have time to prepare then. And if I am totally wrong about all of this, my kids will have a good laugh sorting through all that freeze dried food and ammo when I go Tango Uniform.
