This video took me back to many places I've been to, and a few that now I want to go to.

The title may sound a bit cheesy, but this is worth a watch IMO. It's long so it'll require a block of time.

 

I came across that last year at some point. Very well put together film.

 

His videos in general a much better than your typical "overlander YouTuber" in my opinion. While some of it can come off a bit cheesy, he definitely comes off as a guy that genuinely wants to be out exploring.

 

I enjoyed the videography quite a bit. A nice use of drone footage, with a good balance, putting the vehicles in perspective with the landscape.

 

Agreed. The only other channel that seems to do it well is Lifestyle Overland. Nowhere near as cinematic as his though.

 

I don't know if you ordered enough wire to do it, but I'd love a harness as well; happy to pay. Don't need the terminals though; I'm quite happy with mine. Would need 3/8" lugs on the terminal ends.

Oh, and I'm back from DV again. New t-case worked great, much better than my trip planning skills this time (which fell flat on their face). Still, a fun time with lots of hiking, mines, and sand dunes. Photos soon enough, but here are a couple teasers from the cell phone.



The gearset for the cable system was in better shape than my transfer case. Still well oiled.



A later addition one of the mines to help move things along more quickly. Still never made any money at this location.

 

Sure thing, I was gonna make a few since I'm at it. 4ga okay? Also that is a Nissan L16 or L18 (depends on year) engine, good little engine out of my favorite mini truck...

 

4 is great; sounds like there was a discussion around sizes and I'm fine with whatever you more knowledgeable people say. I've meant to do this over the years, but just haven't prioritized it since things seem to work fine as they are. I'll just throw in the harness when I do my next timing belt change; should give good/easy access to everything. No rush for me either; I want to do the timing belt when it's warmer out.

That's a cute truck for sure. Was fun to play around with the engine a bit. The gear shift on the tranny still worked just fine after all these years.

 

I was just gonna build em when the wire gets here, ordered a couple spools but shipping anything is a nightmare currently.

Let me know when you have some time to do shocks, I have all the parts on hand I believe and I gave everything a thorough cleaning.

No they're I haven't driven my truck in 8mo coilovers so I'm not going downhill all the time.

 

Awesome. I'm pretty flexible with time, but right now we're holding off on too much "other-people-interaction" while Omnicron passes through. Sending the child to school is using up all of our risk points. So, let's coordinate after that winds down. Hopefully not too long if the predictions of a big spike and then short tail turn out to be reality.

Yeah, I'd like to drive for a bit seeing as how this truck has been out of order for a good while. Bought the coilovers for $200 and the rebuild stuff was cheap, now Dan and I just need to figure out how to set IFP depth and we're golden haha. I figure I can sell em off when it's LT time

I think it always had a limit but was like 8 i think..

 

I tried to creat a PM earlier and the system would not allow me too because I added more than 3 people to the participant list. I then went and reviewed other conversations I am in. Some I started and some I was invited. If they have less than 4 participants, I can add others up to 4 total. If the number is already at 4 or more, there is no 'invite more' button.

 

interesting. Yeah Im in PMs with like 7 or more people at times.
