same. First dealership I put a request in at only asked for one color, so I told them LR. Second dealer I put a deposit down at required I put down 3 colors, so I put down 1. LR, 2. MGM, 3. Silver. But I’m going to try my best to hold out for LR. I’ve already waited this long to get what I want, might as well keep waiting.

Really wanted the LR as well. But that WCP... something about it. Will absolutely suck if it ever needs body work. Oh well, no turning back now. Sold my Nissan last night...

When i go to build on toyota's website,
    1 - choose trd sport
    2 - choose double cab & 6ft bed
    3 - choose 4x4
then it automatically changes my "cabs & beds" option to access cab with 6ft bed.

This has been a bug for weeks. Their build function on the website seems to be flawed for sure.

I ordered a TRD Pro last year since March. Never happened, color was wrong but they insist that 21 pro comes in Army Green. Seriously, Toyota ghosted me. If I don't pop by their door, they will not answer me. I tried to bugged them once a month for update.
Once the 2022 start in production, they never follow up on me, so I went in either for my refund or order a 2022. I put in an order for 2022 in end of November. I'm guessing they learned that I will never go away and they will never get my deposit for free.... maybe....who knows...
    This time they are responsive.....

Toyota, why they only have 4 colors to choose from for their best trim? Didn't like the bright color Lime or super white. One time someone hand drew a dick on my black sport car and it stays. So I went with Metallic Grey.
They contacted me at the end of December of an allocation. Hopefully there's no push back, should be here by end of February. VIN number received, still work on their site.
With $1446 worth of accessories installed, it comes to $50,684.50 out the door.
For all my fellow truck lovers, prepare to be very patient when ordering a truck. Those who got theirs swiftly, I'm happy for y'all.

if it makes you feel any better, I'm 49k out the door with the TRD Offroad with the advanced tech. I thought about going pro but couldn't get it build for under 55k out the door.

It's a M/T which is $2705 cheaper than the Auto. The car tax in South Carolina is cheap too.

    Got an update.

12-4: Search begins, agree to deposit at local dealer (they never ran my card oddly enough but ran credit check)

12-20: Allocation day, nothing met parameters

1-7: Allocation day, Trail Edition reserved

1-11: Build day - VIN switched to permanent

    1-13: En route to port

1-17: ETA to dealership updated to 1-25

So this may drag on a bit but even still, it’s safe to say search start to delivery, 2 months. I missed the early December allocation by days I believe, otherwise could’ve given myself a shot there. Was open to LR, Black, or AG TRDOR or Trail Edition. Missed a Black OR by minutes in early December actually. Now that time has passed I’m so glad I waited for AG. I would’ve always gazed longingly at AG Toyotas if I had gotten black.

My salesperson told me today that I’m still 4-5 months out. Put down a deposit at the end of October. Methinks they don’t have the numbers of TRD Pros they have taken deposits on and are hoping to find a leftover in the pipeline after other preorders are filled. What do you all think?

I can see a couple of Tacos locally that aren’t reserved that are similar, but I would just need to upgrade myself or have dealer add the lift and the grille I prefer. I can wait 5 months. I just don’t want to get shafted and pushed to a 2023 in the end. Any input is appreciated. I guess I could pretty easily buy a new 4Runner instead as they don’t seem to be in very short supply as of now.

I read a while back that Toyota wasn’t going to release the Pro and Trails until spring of 2022. Looks like they are pushing a few now but from what I gather your salesman is probably being upfront with you. Where I read it, I can’t remember. Hang in there, the wait will be worth it but the best advice is to try to get an allocation at several different dealers. This will up your chances.

I agree with prior reply in that no Pros have been shipping yet. Probably February are the first batch so there’s definitely time. That would be frustrating to get pushed to 23. I would definitely cast lines out at multiple dealers for a truck like that. Think about it this way. If you get 2 allocation chances a month for 6 more months say, that’s 12 shots. If you had 3 dealers, that’s now 36. 3x likelihood to win the lottery there. It can be hard when they all ask for deposits but that may need to be what you do to ensure victory.

We have only been waiting about 2 weeks, so really have just started the journey. I suspect a MGM or silver will show up first. If they call and say AG then we would take that I guess. The ATP is the trick right now, seems to be what is defining our options right now.

I did that with a Highlander Hybrid for my wife and the deposits where I sought allocations all had a refundable deposit policy. When I got the allocation she wanted from the first dealer that could get me one, I had my deposits refunded from the other dealers.

Not as much of an option around here. Deposits are non-refundable until they admit they can't find you a truck (180 days) for our deposit. At least this dealer was MSRP, rather than MSRP+5K which seems to be the standard around here lately.
