First link is useless.. They send the kit out for free but unless you have the know how on how to read the test results you will have to pay 25.00 bucks to them to give you the results.

I've actually read a lot about what that guy says in your second link. Anyone that wants info on oil I would strongly recommend the second link. Main reason on why I run full synthetic.

I too run full synthetic oil for numerous reasons.
Ive seen the test results! They do an awesome job. It's too cheap to find out if there is any containments in your oil. Your oil tells a lot about the condition of your engine.
All this for $25 bucks. HECK YEA!!!

Don't need to analyze it unless you think you need it.... I don't. My oil after 3000 miles still looks new on the dipstick.... You will have wear and tear on your truck no matter how you drive it..... so the test results are gonna show wear.... so I really don't see exactly how this works.... oil is meant to break down after an extended period of time which means these tests are only good for if you are planning on buying a car....

I agree with you bro, you said it. "Don't need to analyze it unless you think you need it"

I have never analyzed my oil cuz i have never had problems. But needless to say its a good resource to bookmark.

so what kinda oil filters is everyone running? im going to start running oem yota's, i usually pick up a mobil 1 filter or fram tg, but from reading that thread about the amount of actual filter media being the highest in oem filters im going that route.

how much snow you got up that way ramon?
