The brake booster is only different because of crawl control. Auto Pro and ORs have the different brake booster for that.

I've used my locker but in all the times I've used it I probably could have done without. And it was intentional "let's see if I can go climb that" shenanigans not "I am stuck unless I go that way" sort of stuff.

I guess you have a point, if your truck is less than 3 years old

Off-road without the proper bed stickers?

    Straight to jail!

Gonna have to disagree with that. The ONLY reason that these trucks, or any, do well with open diffs is the brake actuated "limited slip". Without that, I have been stuck in wheel up situations, creek crossings, light snow, wet clay farm roads, etc. It depends on where you are driving, but open diffs means effective 2wd and you can get stuck in pretty easy conditions when it's slick. The traction control in these is pretty good though.

Yup, they take that kind of thing pretty seriously.

Oh I completely agree that having a locker is better than not having one. I’m looking into adding a rear locker when I put 4.88 gears in this summer.

    Ah fair point. Makes sense.

Point being the difference isn't in performance but in some of the technical specs for what it needs to do. It is in fact a difference but not one I would consider.

Until you hit 120k miles and the non OR/Pro need the vacuum pump replaced. I’m glad I don’t have to do that expensive service.

I watched a Dirty Jobs show about a guy who disposes of old mattresses... Pretty disgusting. Almost worse than adding badges to the Tacoma... Makes me sick to my stomach ;)

I have taken my 4x4 SR5 on all kinds of rough, rocky, muddy, snowy, and sandy dirt roads throughout several National Forests across the southwestern United States.
As long as you have good tires and 4x4 you can go almost anywhere. The locking rear differential that comes with the TRD Off Road model would be a nice extra to have but it is by no means necessary to get deep into the backcountry.

Around the age of 15, took the parents 1977 Gremlin X off road more than a few times, high centered it once. Don’t recall it being the off road edition and I always made it home.

But let’s confuse that with the Pro edition…
