Placed a deposit officially. Early to mid-2022 per my account. It was interesting that I couldn't use the same email that i had used for my first deposit 11 months ago. I guess the system would see that date instead of my new deposit and put me way at the front of the line (not my intent).

I think the article is misleading. They’ve shipped 100k terminals to customers. That is entirely separate from anything to do with the Indian debacle.

I read it as 100K to India. Thanks for your take on it :hattip:

Logged into my account to see what was up and saw my order was processing today. I gave it a nudge by authorizing it and got my confirmation email :goingcrazy:

As predicted, sub freezing weather for the next week so I hope it clears up!

I have not been notified as of now. I’ll post when it does come through.

Still strategizing my install. My neighbors have a huge Pine tree straight across from my driveway and of course it blocks Polaris..

Have you downloaded the app yet? It has a handy setup function that will show you exactly what the dish needs to see of the sky and takes the guess work out of it.

I have, that’s how I found out the tree was gonna be an issue :frusty:

It’s been frigid up here lately but i think I’ll do a temp set up in my side yard that’s to the west of treezilla and then in the Spring, mount it on my roof. Either that or I could try to work the safety issue with the neighbors again. The things a monster and has no business being in a neighborhood.

    I’ll post a pic later.

On a positive note, I did get the Starlink “Prepare for Starlink” email but no shipping notice yet.

    I’m thinking I’ll get the rectangular v2..

About how big a hole to get the skinny/straightish connector from the dish into the house?

I used a 1" bit. Gave me a bit of room to get the connector through. I had to go through 16" of foundation wall so I wanted it to be easy. Sealed it with spray foam and a cap with RTV on the outside wall.

You can likely go smaller but it still needs to be a pretty good size. 3/4" or 7/8" maybe? Someone else might have a number for the actual smallest hole possible.

The latest version of the Starlink app speedtest. It seems like every time I open it to run one they’ve changed the format a bit.

I wonder how much they save in just shipping costs. That box looks to be about half the size of mine with the first dish design.

Yeah, it’s pretty minimalistic too. The dish w pole attached, base, power cable, non-ethernet ported router, POE/Data cable between dish and router.
