Could you please xplain this so I understand?
[tranny overheating in that much snow in 4H]

I have a question for you since we have reached this point of contention about where/when to use 4L..
[and I am sure there are several threads around here

    4L changes the gearing, yes?
So there is more torque to the wheels-

How relevant is this in a MT where I can control the force going to the wheels with the clutch/gas?

I can put it in 1st and go down an icy hill real nice and slow - while in 4H - and while I know there may be instances where I am stuck and need 4L, I am having trouble understanding the generalizations..

I feel like 4L and the locker are both tools that you use to get yourself un/stuck but most of the time you do not/should not be using them..
of course IDK jack/shit about being grill deep in snow :)

Okay so now, tell me how wrong I am TacoWorld
Just pls explain why - -

    Its simple physics.

Any spinning or sliding wheel has zero (0) traction. It doesn't matter 2wd, 4H or 4L, AT or MT.

It is the difference between Static vs Dynamic friction.

Snow driving is the best. I camped last night at -6°F in more than a 12” of snow and got to cruise untouched fire roads. It was a blast.

Kyler is my 5th favorite QB. I wish he played baseball though as I have season tickets for the Rookie ball Lake monsters.

Super impressed with the trucks snow performance today, truly a fucking tank! For whatever reason, full size trucks always have the need to rev or stomp on the throttle around me.

Its not the truck needing to rev.....its the doofus behind the wheel not knowing how to drive on snow/snow pack/ice.

My commute was 50 miles one way, at 5 AM there was not a plow truck to be found the bottom line you need to be smarter than the truck. If your purpose is to try and get stuck then it's not hard to do if I'm going off road in deep snow I take the snowmobile yeah if you try hard you can get them stuck too.

It snowed when I was in Mississippi. People simply came to a stop, got out and walked leaving their cars where it stopped. So I10 was blocked with abandoned vehicles.

The easiest way to think about it,

Is like a 18 speed bicycle. Or 10 speed, no matter.

When you are going up a hill, you go to a lower gear, as it is easier on your legs and you can actually get up the hill. More torque, less go fast. (4L)

Now you get to the top and want to go back down with more speed, you switch to a higher gear and giver. (4H)

Anytime you think the truck needs more torque and you would change up on the bicycle gear, you go to a lower gear for more torque.

Always trying to make the truck work as little as possible by giving it the best gearing advantage.

I have a 3 car garage with 4 cars in it - only one is mine, the other three are my SO . . .

I am super butt hurt about having to park my truck outside, especially during this weather - I do not like it but haven't yet figured out how to get one of his out of my way - -

Pick one and move it also I want the spot that is easiest to get a car in and out of. That is how that conversation would go.

One is immobile, but also parked right where the beam is between the door 1 and door 2 - but the other two do not get driven, hardly ever. . . garage princesses to the hilt, battery tenders and all..
If I move one of em, all hell will break loose - I thought about it more than once..

    I got the best spot, but - - -
