CDT AUDIO HD-690COM 6X9” Component Set $249.99

Hi,
How good is this set? I use to have a 6/12 set from CDT that I really like. These are on sale now for $249.99 from $429.99. Would the 6x9 fit on the Tacoma?

They'll fit. You'll need adapters though. CDT makes great stuff. That's what they call a standard mount depth - 3.25". The Morel Tempo Ultra is 3.35" and fit fine with metra adapters or TT adapters

 

Thanks. How hard is it to install 16 gauge wiring on the doors for the crossover, or you can use the inline filter of the OEM wiring?

 

I would run all new if you are running the passive crossovers. the gromet to the door is somewhat of a pain in the ass, but not impossible

 

So I wonder, the list price of this set is $450, now are $249, but can I get something better speakers for $249? I don't like the idea of a two-way speaker in the door and another tweeter in the dash. But there is a lot of two-way components for $250 or less.

 

Wait what? That CDT set is a component set, not a set of Coaxials.

 

Yes I know. My question is if I can get a better 6x9 component set for $249, sorry for the confusion.

 

I think you would be hard pressed to find something less expensive.

Thanks for your help, I bite the bullet and ordered. Almost have all my sound stuff to start the install. For now, I will use a Key-lock amp on by amp mode to do the DSP stuff for the front but eventually would like a bigger amp and a separate DSP. Or Maybe a Good amp with integrated DPS, but I don't know how to tune. I really like the JL Audio Vxi 1000/5.

 

I'll be honest, I'm still learning myself lol

 

Op, Curious how these ended up sounding? I am looking at CDT's now. Trying to figure out which model of their HD 6x9 wont be too deep for the lower front doors of my '13.

 

They have a slim line 6x9. I actually just put a set of the 690SEX coaxial in my mustang rear deck, and they sound good. Actually, all the speakers in my mustang are CDT.

 

Thanks Ron. CDT just got back to me today and said the same thing. Funny they don’t have better specifications on their stuff. Can’t even put a minor detail such as driver depth

 

Yeah, their website sucks, but they ship quick, and the speakers are good.
