Spent the afternoon in the woods today, it wasn't that cold! A bit windy but I only thought the tree I was in was going to blow over twice.

Nope, was debating between 2 spots about 300 yards apart. I sat in one, watched 3 doe walk right past the other. Likely going to switch on Saturday and watch them walk under the tree I was in today.

 

Set up a remote turret to light em up as soon as they enter its range.

 

Or just dump corn under the tree your in.

 

Update: We made it back from Nebraska on Sunday with the 2 new pups and 2400 extra mile on the taco. The trip only made me love the truck more, falkens, 4wd and a careful right foot got us through both sides of the winter storm and Iowa's apparent lack of snow prep.

 

Or go old school and set up traps along their run.

 

all very fine ideas worth exploring. not currently viable on the public land archery only spot i've been hunting, but that's just the voice of reason and law abiding rearing its ugly head. looks like i need to spend more time on TW and less paying attention to the rules, then maybe i'd have another deer in the freezer lol

It is always illegal. It just becomes an issue when you get caught.

 

It is downstream from the old crazy hospital. Hard to tell what could be in the water.

I gave my 2 weeks notice yesterday. I got a job in WV with full benefits, 401k ect... so now I'll be a full-timer up on the mountain. My wife is starting to look for employment. Once I sell my house here in Baltimore co I should walk away with enough to pay off my cabin. Getting out of Baltimore and living up there with no debt is our goal.
