    TRD dealer installed lift
Odd that a dealer wouldn’t want in on a moneymaking deal like the trd lift kit

I thought the same thing. Parts guy said order online and schedule a time to have it installed. Transferred to service to get labor rate and they said they don’t do it. At least they were honest and I didn’t pay for it first.

    Holy Moly!

I thought $2600 was bad…the only thing not included was taxes & shop supplies (whatever that means).

    That’s over $1500 (kit is $1450) for labor…and it’s estimated a 5hr job…and doesn’t include alignment? Absurd.

If you really want it, start calling different dealerships like I did. I was surprised to find I didn’t have to travel very far to get the best quoted deal.

Only 3 dealers in the area for me and they have all conspired together (is my thought) as they are all at the same price give or take a few dollars. It may be time for a road trip up your way to get it done ;)

Anyone who has installed the TRD lift know the part number for just the 2 parking brake cable spacers? I’m hoping I could use these for spacing the cables on my Deaver lift. I’ve seen other solutions elsewhere, but would like to go with oem, depending on price… Thanks.

My dealer wanted to sell me that kit. That's odd, but also not uncommon. Some dealers won't do stuff like that at all. They don't want to deal with people bringing it in after issues occur. Do they do other lift kits and such? TBH tho, you'll get a better rate from somewhere else 90% of the time.

I cut those brackets off so they wouldn’t bang around after I did my AAL. Seems fine so far. Hopefully I didn’t do something stupid. Haha.

Thanks man! I really appreciate the photo with super clear part number. Much good Toyota karma to you. Looks like they’re about $20 each from Toyota. My plan is to tap and bolt these to the Deaver leaf spring clip for what I hope will be a clean solution for managing the parking brake cable after a non-oem lift.

I’m not seeing this answers here but on the Toyota parts website it states that the TRD Lift cannot be done on the 2022 TRD Sport with M/T.

can anybody confirm? And can anybody explain why?

It is normal for the newest model years to not immediately show as “eligible” for prior year add-ons and parts.

If your question is about whether or not you could install this yourself, I’d say you likely can. Just like how I bet the TRD intake doesn’t say it’s available for the 2022 year model yet even though no real changes happened from 2021-2022.

I installed the TRD lift shocks on my 2020 DCLB and I don’t think it’s ever been posted it works for my configuration on the Toyota site. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it though.

If you want the dealer to install and “cover it” then you need to wait.

Off topic but found these on the FB marketplace for $1,000, wrapped in Good Year Wranglers 265/70/16... worth it?

You can find the wheels new for anywhere between $150 (great deal) all the way up to $250 per wheel. If the wheels are in like new condition and the tires are basically new, then I would say go for it. Otherwise, I would say you are better off getting them new yourself.

Edit: Link to wheels for about 150 - Click Here. Looks like free shipping too!

    Thanks! That's super helpful information.

And no, I will not install myself! I am just not that handy, unfortunately.

I do have a followup. The site also says that the OEM lift kit cannot be done on a Sport with M/T. I suppose I can just reach out to the dealer and ask for the reason you stated above (cannot be any real changes from 2021 to 2022).

Placed an order for a set of shocks. Toyota of Greenville said that I would need to buy the whole set for $1055. So, I cancelled and put an order in with the dealership near my house for pickup. Let's see if it goes through

You know you could buy the Bilstein 6112s with new Bilstein front springs and rear 5160 with ressis for a few hundred more and have lifetime warranty as long as you own them. Do some research on this site.

    thumbnail_IMG_1300 (2).jpg
    thumbnail_IMG_1270.jpg

The 6112/5160 are 5x better than these generic shocks which are a profit windfall for the dealers to apply to those that have not owned a Tacoma in the past and have no idea other than the visual look of 2" height increase.

If I was forced to buy the whole kit for these shocks, I would also have gone for either 5100s all around or the 6112/5160s you mentioned.

Fact is if you can still find a dealer that will sell the shocks only vs the whole kit it is only like $350 total and I can tell you first hand they work great.

Not sure where you get you 5x from, or the whole people don’t know what they are talking about crap… but good luck guy.

They're 16'', clarified with seller and saw them in-person.

Edit: The ones I've been looking at from FB Marketplace are 16'', I apologize, should have clarified.
