Did a deep dive. They modified the design of the Bravo since I purchased mine back in 2019. @upTOPoverland you guys going to send me the updated Bravo components (looks like predominately siderails and roof mounts?

Probably should disclose this on your site because you can't drill for the rear grab handles and still have proper fore/aft alignment... If I drilled all the holes where the picture reflects, I would oval the two rear grab handle mounting holes on the Bravo side rails.

Hadn't heard of those so had to Google it. Already have a cheap lightbar/rope on my soft topper that checks the box. Thanks for the suggestion though.

What solar panel is that? Looks chonky compared to my thin Jackery panel.

No problem. I also have a cell signal booster, but that doesn’t need any extra power. If anything, more lights, lol.

yea its chunky compared to new panels, but it is a much older model that used to be part of an array that ran parking lot lights. it was FREE, and in the wattage range I need at the moment" far as model? no idea but later on I can see if I can find it on one of the other ones I have in storage.

Question: possibly looking to get a wedge rtt. I already have the cab rack, if I were to get the bed rack, would I also need the cap rack so everything lines up?

    A few more...

    20210422_185441.jpg

These are 130w panels. I have about 3kwh of solar that I salvaged after the great Texas Blackout of 2021.

The plan is to use them for the house. Should be able to run most everything except the 240v stuff , that is because I do not yet have the inverter to run 240v

I was very disappointed in the bed rack instructions. Ended up throwing them out and just putting it together myself. Not that its complicated, just cant get over the fact that they go through the process of labeling every single bag of hardware with a number, but then dont mention those numbers anywhere in the instructions..

The rack itself seems decently solid and Im optimistic it will hold up well to how I use my truck.

Another thing that struck me as odd was the holes and slots in the uprights and side panels arent quite big enough for the M8 hardware that comes with the rack. Its so close, but not quite

Definitely think about what you want and wire for it. If you are using the thinFin, from experience, you are not going to want to remove that multiple times. Just for some examples here are the 2 setups I've had on my rack and one that I plan on switching to

    Original setup:
    - Forward 38in ExtremeLED XS6 (amber and white independently wired)
    - 4x ScenePOD (wired as one)
    - Rear 20in light bar
    - Rear amber chase lights 2x
    - 100W solar panel

    Current setup:
    - Forward 38in ExtremeLED XS6 (amber and white independently wired)
    - 4x ScenePOD (sides independently wired)
    - 100W solar panel

    Future setup:
    - Forward Baja Designs LP4 White 3x (or something similar)
    - Forward Baja Designs LP4 Amber 4x (or something similar)
    - 4x ScenePOD (sides independently wired)
    - 100W solar panel

There will be an extra wire up there that I can connect something to in the future if I find something. Unfortunately I'll probably redo the entire harness at some point mostly due to lessons learned with wiring since original install.

Side question for those here, but would anyone want the 38in ExtremeLED XS6 and front fairing if I did make the change at some point in 2022?

This is the boat I am in right now. I scored a Renogy 100w starter kit over the holidays and have a good battery to pair it with. My thinking is to get a decent inverter to go with it to power a 12v fridge/freezer and other odds and ends.

Damn, forgot you need another battery. Oh well, here I go spending too much money again. Renogy sounds like the brand I'll go with for solar stuff.

Man I am so damn close to pulling the trigger on this bed rack / cap rack setup and worrying about the $ later. Seems to be a semi-common theme in here lol. Tax return season = Tacoma mods amiright? I just know how good it'll look with the roof rack (this is the best looking setup IMO) and after reading everything in here it sounds like the quality is about as good as it gets.

Does anyone have pics of a mid height truss bed rack with the cap rack? I saw the question asked many pages back but couldn't track down a pic. Secondly, does anyone have a pic of an MGM & Black - Rack/AAP setup or a Cement & Black Rack/AAP setup. Meaning inner & outer (groovetek/armortek) are some combination of those.

Apparently I have to order both the Truss Bed Rack and the Cap Rack though. I don't really understand why I need two sets of load bars when the only part of the Cap Rack I want are the two top panels. They'd flow into my roof rack, color match, handles, lights would match. And I could simply wire the lights to my roof rack Bajas in minutes and have them all on the same cab switches that I've already wired up. If I went this route would I eliminate the load bars from the Truss Bed Rack? I guess that's maybe a benefit (more room in the bed?). I don't know, paying $1100+ for two panels (and $1100+ to toss some brand new load bars the second I get them) just feels weird so I've got to be missing something. *And nothing against UpTop, they've answered my questions fast and were cool, just a little confusing. If the site says the Truss Bed Rack will easily hold my RTT + my wife and I, why are they trying to sell me on the added strength of the Cap Rack?

So my question is basically has anyone rigged this up going a cheaper route? I know I'm not the first to think of it, there are plenty of poor folk like me out here haha. Maybe buying the Cap Rack to get it matching my Roof Rack and connecting it to a cheaper Bed Rack that somehow comes without load bars (since the UpTop Cap Rack will hold my RTT + my wife and I).

    OR

Pay $1200 for the Truss Bed Rack which will hold my RTT all camping season while I save up until NEXT tax season for the Cap Rack. BUT if I go this route I'd want to grab the mid height rack. For one, I love my meso 3rd brake light lol. But if I go another route and get any other bed rack I'm getting mid height. Wind/MPGs, price, look, etc. The only reason I'd get a full height rack is to have it flowing / matching my UpTop Roof Rack which again, just looks killer and is the dream setup. That brings us full circle to my first sentence of my post. I'm lost. Don't know what to do. Who do I owe for the therapy session? Sorry if my boots got dirt on your couch!

TIA for any advice! And good lord yall have some A+ setups in here. Very, very well done all around!

What travel trailer is that? I've been looking at all kinds of trailers over the past year or so, but not sure I've seen that one.
