Anyway you can travel? Seek out of state if you can. Honestly, I flew 1400 miles to obtain my 2022 TRD OR and drove it home. Wish you the best of luck.

Mine too showed up on dealer's website this past Sunday! But I did already have the VIN. So so close I can taste it!

My Pro's ETA shows end of February. Temp VIN shows 04 as build week, so I'll check it again at end of the month. Hopeful for mid February delivery :fingerscrossed:

At this point I don't even care if I get one, if I do great, if not oh well. My old trusty van is getting me around for now. I'll just bank the payments I would have made on a loan.

Seeing all these refundable deposits has me feeling like I got cheated, mine is non-refundable. Not that it matters.

Temp VIN is gone today! I don't see a new VIN on Autotrader or the dealer site yet but getting closer.

    Sweet!

Give that a few days. Mine showed up in the dealers online inventory 3 days after the temp VIN stopped working.

The best way is just to talk to your sales person. I keep hoping mine will show up on their website but I’m literally seven days out from it arriving and nothing on their website. I wonder if some dealerships don’t post sold vehicles, which honestly should be how they all are.

I would call the dealership to ask for the real Vin number. The morning mine switched, they had received it

Agreed. Seeing it on their online inventory makes me wonder if someone could possibly swoop in and buy it out from underneath me. I know if the dealer is worth their salt, they won't. Put a deposit on this thing December 17th. I called dibs. Lol

    friendly neighborhood lawyer here,

If they sell it to someone else, they need to pay the diff between that and a similar truck that you buy instead :)

aka, you have the leverage to go to the lot, pick another, maybe even slightly nicer version of your truck, and say: "I will take this truck then, for the same price."

What if there are no vehicles on the “lot”?

That’s what Ford stealerships depended on when they screwed so many of us on bronco preorders. “Pick something off the lot.” Looks around lot…. Crickets.

Well that could be beneficial. Not that I would hope it to happen. Being that all they have are SRs and SR5s.

Thank you for that bit of knowledge. Never knew to be honest. Greatly appreciated.

Most of the time this isn't shady tactics by the dealer IMO. Dealers appear to be super far behind when it comes to digital transformation and IT systems. From what I understand, whether it's pre-sold or not, the trucks get auto-loaded into the system and they auto-post in the usual places. I think they have no desire to make it more accurate because random people might call in about the truck, hear it's sold, and then look they're on the phone with you and have a chance to sell something else or take a deposit.

It's annoying for hyper-specific people like us, but I bet it drives a lot of digital foot traffic and raises closing percentages.

Good point. All those online inventories got me to call almost 10 dealers looking for one. All had either been sold, or in transit.

You hit the nail on the head, it is to generate traffic “and while I have you on the phone…”.
Don’t worry, man. Just because they have your truck on their site does not mean they are jacking you around. Mine was on their site from build date until the day I drove it off the lot.

Edit: That is how I found my Lunar Rock. I called about a MT TRD OR online but it was sold. The salesman checked his allocation while I hung on and wham!, he had the very one I really wanted allocated that morning with no takers.

I put a $500 deposit on a truck first week of December. Picked it up Dec 29th. Drove from GA to KY to get it
Salesman put SOLD sign on my truck the moment I put deposit on it. It stayed in the online inventory for a few days until after I picked it up.

Greene's Toyota in Lexington. They did right by me.
