I'll have a 35min commute to & from my new job. Only 2 stop signs the whole drive, one on the way back. I plan to register my SxS for street use to use as a commuter. :D

Dave, I moved up to Morgantown last year, and there are SxS's on the road all the time!! Especially when it snows! They seem to be very welcomed in WV. Sounds like your commute is going to be fun times all the time

My buddy moved to Morgantown 2 years ago, they love it there. I see SxS's all over down in town here in my area of WV. I originally planned to buy a new KTM enduro to use as a commuter but I dont want to make any new bills right now, sxs is paid for. I just need to order dot tires and a plug & play turn signal/horn kit to make it street legal.

Very nice truck. What route you plan on taking with it? I'd personally like to see one slammed but that's a waste of a good 4wd tranny.

Do you have any pictures of houses on fire when it's snowing?

Nice, I bet it won't be easy to find replacement interior parts but when you do they should be in good condition. '91 is only 23 years old. You should get historic plates!

Michael Jackson has way too much security for you to strangle me.

I see that on the guide on tv, and have not watched it.

    Cold. You always get cold.

 I know a guy, and a place. I always know a place.

You're new and I haven't told a story in a while so here is #473, my Mutual Of Omaha Wildlife special

I grew up in Baltimore City, and after Vietnam we moved back to the mainland from Hawaii in 72'. Right before Elvis did his Aloha Tour in 73' so I was super pissed. In Highlandtown, I started hanging out with the other neighborhood kids. Doing teenage kid shit. I was always kinda outdoorsy, camping, fishing, and what not. Got into hunting when I was around 16 and was full blown in a club setting up hundreds of goose decoys on the eastern shore by the time I was 18. At 23 I was avid, and the most unlucky hunter in the world. I always saw sign scouting and even deer out of season, but once in the woods it's as if they migrated away from me.

The hunting club name was Emanon (no name spelled backwards) and it was run by some really old coots and it had been around a while. Typically you can only be born into it but I was best friends, and sometimes worked with a guy, and his dad, our boss, was a member. So like any generational organization there is always more than monetary dues to pay and the jokes and chores would be fun and tedious at the same time. Now we were at the age where the almighty V ruled and we were partying like rock stars regularly. I should also point out a key element to this story, my late 70's Bronco I had. It was blue and white and I had the largest tires you could fit under it, a dual steering stabilizer setup for those, and 6" of lift, 3" of which was body. It got about 8 mpg on a good day. But with the 351ci it would go anywhere I pointed it.

So one weekend there is a big hunt planned, I think it was opening day. The club had leased farm property up in Cecil County, something 600 acres. It was nice, there was an empty trailer with cots and a small kitchen, and a wood burning stove, and a crapper. So since we were hunting Cecil County now, and not on the eastern shore, you were allowed to use a rifle. I had a Remington 870 and it was nice but I didn't have a rifle. I also didn't have the money to go to Walmart and buy one. Gas, booze and booty were the priorities, and not always in that order. So my buddies dad offered me his 30.06 semi-auto. I was astounded by the offer so we would go target practice shooting all the time. Iron sights of course, but this was a classic, and proven winner, hey, it was a classic Remington.

Friday rolls around and we say, lets skip work and pack and get ready for the weekend! We hang out, cook some stuff on the grill, start drinking, one thing leads to another and now we are buying a keg and inviting people over, and now another keg, more people.

The party goes into Saturday morning and we decide to hit the road. The Bronco was already packed and sitting there in the alley waiting for us. We look at each other and as if with esp or something we both start to grab the keg in the barrel and lift it into the bed of the Bronco. We soon discovered that the nozzle had just enough line to make it to the front. We were set, and headed up the road. Naturally, I'm obligated to stop right now for a PSA and say that in no way do I condone drinking and driving.

About an hour into the drive, in what is now a snow storm, we get lit up and pulled over. The state boy is asking questions about this and that and to avoid him I just kept saying the snow is building up on the inside of the wheels causing the tires to shimmy off balance. I think he was just glad to get us nuts out of his hair. Keep in mind this is back when cops would simply make you pour your beer out or keep it. I did however use this opportunity to see what those orange safety barrels do when you hit them with a steel bumper at 50 when they are frozen.

So now it's like 4:30ish, 5:00 am and we are lost as all fawk driving around looking for this baby blue trailer. One farm after another. Finally we see some vehicles we recognize. The trailer was yellow. No one is there. The note reads, "thanks for driving around like assholes waking everyone up. Stay out of the woods and stay here and clean up the place".

We hauled the keg out of the back, had a couple beers straightening the place up, and unpacked our rifles and walked to an area we knew they wouldn't be. That we figured would just be far away enough to avoid the bashing. We knew there wouldn't be any deer because never saw any sign there.

Now this club has something like 12 or 14 members including me. Some are seriously green, like me. Some are just guys that eventually hang out in the bar like their dads, and become members. Oh, I left this part out. When we unpacked the rifles I noticed the rear blade style adjustable sight was loose and sliding back and forth. All I had at the time was a fingernail file.

We were in the wood line for about 30 minutes and I see a deer. Then another, smaller one. Then another one. I am shaking more than the leaves on the trees. I watch and wait and when I feel like there is no chance a miss would go any farther than the deer I shot. It leapt in the air and took off over the hill it was on. I waited about 2 minutes and slowly crept up the hill and got to the top and I could see through some briars it was hit, up, and limping. I waited, checked the background, and shot again. It went down. I waited about 3 minutes and started to slowly go towards it. Now I could hear what sounded like one of the two smaller ones calling for it. All of the sudden off to the left a deer jumps up and bolts. I am confused. I walk towards the one I downed and it is dead. It is only a yearling. I was scratching my head. So I walked back to the spot where the deer was lying down and sure enough there was a lot of blood there and some shit. I knew it was hit good. So then what happened. I started to track this larger deer. I knew it bolted but I also knew it didn't go far. This area was sort of a bottom and there was a water feature on one side, so.........so I creep through the woods a little at a time and I see it! Line up, check for safe, fire! It drops!

I get up there and there are two deer. One a doe about 165 lbs and a smaller one, again, about a year old.

WHAT WHAT!? I shot three freaking deer my first time hunting with a rifle, on opening day, with a loaner gun!!!! So I had them all skinned and laying on the tailgate of the Broco and when the old guys were all coming out of the woods for lunch we were sitting there, with our keg, and they asked. So you guys were going down and bringing the deer back up for us, that almost makes up for the noise" but each of them looked at each other and were like "those aren't mine" and my buddy spoke up and said, "he got em', all three". None of the older guys believed us and thought we ran them over.

    And that's hunting story #473

We're still waiting for someone to mount a potato cannon to a Prinsu.

I keep saying I am going to market deer traps. La bigger mouse trap with corn. Just stop all this gun nonesense.

Ok, so if like Drew said, and you want to get rid of wither of them, we promise to take care and love it. Also, beautiful GSD! He's lean! What's up with his tail in that one pic though?

I prefer the pit w/spikes. Then I can just push the dirt over to cover the hole. Keeps the smell to a minimum.

Without law there is only anarchy.

    I have that tattoo.

J.C. is more fan at what?

    Mernin' :hattip:

Whens the last time you did anything illegal? Don't say "what time is it", that's my line. :drevil:

That's some Bel Air Witch shit there!

One is cuter than the other one. Mrs. RobP62 has brought up getting a third twice now. I wonder if we could get a puppy. You know, handle it. I am not sure. We have wall to wall. If we didn't I wouldn't care about the mess. On carpet though, I have to break out the carpet cleaner. Which in itself isn't a problem, its waiting for the cleaned area to dry.

DA-UMMMMMM BROTHER!!!!!!! THIS IS SUCH FREAKING EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!!!!! Wow, :jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance::jellydance: I am so so jealous!!! Oh, wait, you're not retiring?! I got to "I gave my two week notice......." and then started to daydream about being on a warm beach somewhere with a frozen margarita, and so suntan lotion. But serious, I am so glad you and K are getting out. I never hear you talk about your neighbors so I can only think they must hate you or something so no love lost there. If you need a hand moving up let me know, I have that tandem axle trailer you are more welcome to borrow. I am not sure I will be much help getting this surgery next month but depending on when it all goes down at the very least I can come and make sure the beer is cold and you aren't slackin'. Damn Brother, this is really nice. I like to hear about successful exodus's.

Hey! We could have a going away and a welcome home party for you up there!!! This will be a first for me so I need to plan...................

That's Mr. Mayor to you pal.

My neighbors here in Baltimore are great! Google "Jungle Jim on Pass Time", that's my neighbor right next door. All car guys on my street. When I first bought my house back in 02 I was driving a lifted 85 hilux & my Chevelle SS396 daily. My neighbors told me that I'll fit in just fine lol. My neighbor Brian just bought property in WV that borders Sleepy Creek.
