Does anyone know how to tune or change the Tacoma to make it such that the “S” mode will stay on the gear I have it in. I want it the be a true Manuel mode instead of just a maximum gear setting. Thanks

It can be faked in with the current vF Tunes, but you would lose the ECT function. A tune update from vF is in the works. Hopefully that bring full manual shift functionality.

By update do you mean like clicking an option in vftune to enable it or going though some complicated process of changing all the shift points and stuff. If I will have to build the tune manually, do you know where I can find tutorials.(this is the thing that scares me about vftune. I can find people who have tuned there truck with it and done all kinds of stuff but I can never find files. It always seems like I have to build a tune from the ground to which I don’t know how to do. I wish I could find a sort of “how to not blow up your engine” guide to tuning so I could make my own tune)

Faked in by editing many maps in vF.

There used to be a lot more collaboration to help folks with that, but it all died.

If the tune update happens as suspected, GearLock would be just flicking a setting in the software, and done.
