DO NOT buy from Elmhurst toyota. They have absolutely framed me. My truck is ordered and comes in at the end of the month but I want to get all of my mods ready for when it comes. I ordered a set of wheels, however, after I ordered I decided I liked a different style. No problem. Once the wheels come I will send them back. Elmhurst double charged me for shipping and it only allowed me to send one pair back. I still had to send 1 box back but I wanted to sort out the double shipping charge in the mean time. They continuously emailed me angry messages demanding they won’t pay for shipping of the other box. THEN once they got the first box I shipped, they claimed the wheels were dented and damaged and no refund will be issued for the entire set. HOW!? I don’t even have a truck yet? And I didn’t even open the box when it came? I already had the other pair I wanted ordered. This company is extremely unprofessional and on top of that they try to fuck over consumers. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

Your post is kind of difficult to understand. Did you read the dealer's fine print return/shipping policies before you ordered? Did you or the dealer have shipping insurance coverage? You might try filing a claim with your credit card company if you feel you're in the right with that situation. Some credit cards offer coverage or consumer protection for damaged goods.

Also, being polite and compromising often produces better results than demanding and rude. :hattip:

That sucks OP. I'd cancel the truck order, dispute charges for all the rims with CC company. Then go to Continental Toyota in Countryside, talk to Mustafa (sales manager). I've bought several vehicles there including my Taco, and helped friends and family buy vehicles there. I've had an issue or two with service, but they always take care of me. In my experience, for a dealer, Continental does alright, but I keep them honest when necessary.

@MGMDesertTaco all I was trying to do was return the set of wheels and they claimed they were damaged when they received them and will not process a refund. Mind boggling because I didn’t even open the box.

It's possible the shipper damaged them. Whomever paid for return shipping should have had insurance, but try and work it out with your credit card company.

Welcome to the forum. As you posted this today and @outdoorgb posted a Google review based on your experience, I assume that after you called Mr. Gmitrovic they didn’t help you out.

If you can't work it out with the dealer or your credit card company chaulk it up as a life lesson. I'm reminded of Tony Beets from GoldRush "Lessons cost money, good ones costs lots."

Yep, I will find a way to resolve this and get my money back. But I strongly do not believe it was shipping damage. The person at Elmhurst I was dealing with is named Bob, and he sent me many demanding/angry emails. Word to the wise. Use another place to buy parts.

So OP, there is a post above which is a copy of a note from the general sales manager Tony with a phone number asking you to call him so this can be resolved. HAVE YOU CALLED HIM? Looks like they want to resolve this.

Take photos before you return shit - even the boxes themselves if unopened

What a whiny first post. You think shipping is free for anyone? It's not. Even the planet pays a price for your attitude of "I'll just send them back", who cares about all the emissions going into the atmosphere, I need my modzzzz. Ugh, gross. I'm not sorry for you one bit. This is real life, and your choices have consequences.

The shipper should have made a notation if the boxes were damaged when accepted. If not, then any damage would be caused by the shipper. That's why you insure stuff.
As for sending it back, because you changed your mind, you would generally be responsible for cost of return shipping and possibly restocking. It should all be in the fine print of your invoice, and probably also in the fine print before you purchased (often in a sub section called "shipping and returns").

I agree with you. Joins TW just to whine, then makes a immature response to you. I find in these cases there is usually more sides to the story than stated. The general sales manager gave him his phone to call and resolve this. No indication he has done so.

@RockMess , did you physically take possession of the wheels?

If so, you should have taken pics when packing them up to show the condition.

@Sprig go ahead and order from them. Called earlier. He’s out Tuesday apparently. Again, totally fine with paying shipping. It’s the fact that they said it was damaged and is non refundable.

Look up the definition of whiny. I will not enter into a battle of wits against an unarmed opponent. That is all.
