Can anyone explain to me the tailgating situation for SuperCross? I’ve usually always gone to the Oakland races where the parking is plentiful but this will be my first San Diego race.

There isn't really a "tailgate" setup for Petco. They designed the park to be a "commuter" location so you have to pre-game before or hit the local bars. It's a way of generating revenue.

I see. So from what I’ve gathered so far, and correct me if I’m wrong please, blue will be the pits and red is general parking?

If you trust your truck being alone down there, yes. Take everything out of it and leave nothing visible through the windows would be my suggestion.

Noted. Is that parking open 24/7 or does it open at a certain time for the event?

TBH, it's been years since I've been to a supercross event there. Last time I tried, I rode a motorcycle and could barely find parking if that gives you an idea of how crazy it gets. Personally, I'd probably take the trolley if I were to go now.

What you have circled red is usually a staging area for whatever is going on inside and blue is normal pay for parking unless they need extra space. 6th and parkade is a 10 minute walk which usually runs around 25 and you're in a parking structure. Imperial ave is the most skidish row down there for what it's worth

If you're driving down, I would recommend the parking garage on the west side of the park (6th & K Parkade). Take 6th south, just past K street, turn left into the garage. It's (relatively) safe & close to the park, but does fill up fast. Usually $20, unless the Dodgers or Giants are in town.

Beware of parking in the large lot, as stated before, don't leave valuables. Also, the last one I went to they wanted like$40-50 for parking.

This was $15 for monster jam on Sunday. I agree it’s a good spot. Easy in and out.

Supercross is horrible parking at petco or at least get there super early and walk thru the pits before the race.

I never tail gated petco. Qualcomm was the only one I would tail gate at. Maybe flask it. But yeah it's setup to hit the bars instead of tail gate.

So for parking in the larger lots next to petco… did those open at a certain time or do those just stay open as 24/7 general public parking?

I have my stock 06 Tacoma serviced at The Truck Shop. I'm looking forward to "Goldfinger" reopening so I can wait there for my truck to be serviced.

Basically, I’d appreciate feedback of the few remaining auto junk yards that remain in the SD area. Especially ones with mini trucks, if one even still exists. Anyone remember Mini Truck on Newton Ave. near the Coronado bridge? I went there a lot, years ago. Those were those days. Seems like the only junk yards left are located in Otay Mesa. Which one has the most mini truck stuff nowadays?

Pretty sure it's 24 hrs, but I'd call to double check. Best of luck.

I've only been to the otay ones. It's all online too so the part you are looking for can be found easier. Car-part.com

Pity…it’s a dying thing activity. Going there and rummaging thru trucks. I enjoyed it. I’m still stoked I got a plug and play intermittent wiper assembly for $99. Put it in outside the place with just a Phillips head screwdriver. 5 minutes plug and play. Dealer wanted $350.

Cars that come in get stripped out so fast. I want one of those intermittent wiper levers. I keep toying with the idea to get the gauge cluster that has the tach, but my 2" pillar mounted tach has been holding me over for the longest time.

That's literally my hood, my own backyard. Freaking Teslas and Tacomas, that covers 85% of all vehicles, a few minivans sprinkled in and some Tundras.
