When I started in factories senior people were openly hostile about sharing any kind of knowledge, the old protecting the turf thing.

When I got my first maintenance position I made it a point to share whatever I learned with co-workers and they discovered the value of it. Ultimately I became the training person for a major portion of the plant infrastructure.

When I became a manager my policy was "if you come in the shop you are going to learn something today".

I figured if I could get these kids thinking they might just keep at it. A few actually did.

This one needs a new Cartridge/needle setup, along with some weights adjustment. Far as I can tell it's the original cartridge from I wanna say 1972 o_O

My most prized vinyl is Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick. Mother bought it when it came out back in '72. I can pretty much recite that whole 43 minute, 46 second song by heart. I'm such a dork...

I have 4-5 CD players, all Sony, average age 25 years, average price $15... My favorite receiver is one I found on the side of the road, pretty stout unit @ 45 watts/channel, built in 1977.

I probably have half a pick up truck load of records, haven't played them in at least 15 years.

My parents had a record player and around 50 records growing up. I assume they still have them. My favorite one was C.W. McCall, he had some good songs but my favorite is Convoy.

I have about 300 albums in my attic. No one's touched them in 25 years.

I thought I would put some of them on CD, I had a fellow build me a computer that was capable of doing that -- it ran Windows Millennium Edition...
