    Can confirm.

My first house I bought in 1994, small rural area of northern CA. 3 bed, 2 bath, 1200 ft^2 on 1/4 acre for $135K. It sold in 2014 for $195K, then again in 2017 for $415K........

Place my wife and I have now is only 2 miles from that first house, 3 bed, 2 bath, 1700 ft^2 on 1 full acre, we bought in early 2019 for $420K. We're planning to move out of the People's Paradise to a sane state in next year or so,, so I looked our place up on Zillow just for giggles.... Zillow claims it's current value is $530K.

Sounds like the only way to ensure the job gets done right, is to do it yourself.

Do it now before the bubble bursts. Move East to Arizona or Texas, you'll be glad you did.

I would prefer Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah.... as I love mountains, winter, snow. But my wife and in-laws are not keen on the idea of too cold weather in winter. Right now, we are considering states like Tennessee, North Carolina, or close to that area. My wife, father in law and I would seriously consider Arizona, but my mother in law wants nothing to do with the "desert". My wife and I love the Flagstaff area, and my father in law likes Prescott area, which are fairly close to each other.

I won't go to any of the southern states, way to damn hot and I am not a fan of humidity.

    Morning peoples.

Just perusing the results of my first colonoscopy this morning (I'm sure some of you are jealous..
for various reasons). Anyway, clean bill of health! My bowels are squeeky clean surprisingly enough. Don't have to get probed for another 10 years.

Which brings me to PSA #2: don't put off getting the inside of your butt looked at. This is important stuff.

Tennessee and North Carolina both can be pretty dam hot and humid during the summer months. Not as bad as say, the gulf coast states, but close to it. I've been in NC for over 20 years now. Nice state with beaches Mountains, 4 seasons, hunting and fishing. I grew up in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and those states can be miserable during the summer months.

don't bet on it. I used to have those done quite frequently because of digestive issues. Now I just do the cancer screening test yearly, which my dr. recommends. If that ever shows somethings amiss, then I'll go visit the "Rubber Hose" doc. Colonoscopies can be quite dangerous. Glad everything worked out, and you don't have to endure this for another ten years.

I did US Army Basic Training in Alabama in August/September. Nasty heat/humidity..... western North Carolina or eastern Tennessee are currently among the favored general areas. We all want a very rural area, my main concern is that it has reasonable internet, as I work from home. And I would really rather not have to rely on Starling or other wireless type of internet connection.

you'll be shocked at home prices in the mountain areas, but hey you're coming from California, home of sky high home prices. Come on over, you'll be glad you did.
