I've always thought I would eventually get bolt ons, but I've never seen sliders as affordable as the weld ons from 4X Innovations. Got e rethinking my plan.

If you want to buy those and just by some steel plate you could always have me weld the plates on for you and make bolt on for probably cheaper lol.

shows $372 shipped to my address. Id imagine steel plate youd need would be another $150-$250. You'd probably be saving realistically about $350 Or if you just did weld on then itd be about $500-$600 saved

I’ve got weld on. I’ve heard people say bolt ons are stronger because it disperses the weight more evenly on impacts. Something about shear strength but I have no clue. I got weld ons bc cheaper and I don’t have to worry about rust in between the plate and frame

Depends how the plates for the bolt ons are made how many holes and size bolts they utilize in comparing the 2. I will say the weakest point for either is the stock frame. I've had both currently my custom set of weld ons made for me by 12th state offroad. They have been making a lot of sliders for Apex Overland. sweetbrown80, 12thstateoffroad, and spudrunner_t4r on IG if you want to check them out and the ones they made for me.

Weld ons have one distint advantage putting a tube from the frame to the slider right where the frame kicks up. I've noticed on ALL sliders weld on and bolt on this is where a lot of flex and movement occurs so we put a brace there for mine. Secondly the weld on sliders need a large enough landing pad at each leg to distribute the load well. The way mine are done there are 4 1/2 holes drilled in the plate and plug welded then perimeter welded the landing pads are a bit larger than the avg weld on. Also we put the legs closer together towards the front of the truck due to the weight up front and dropping off an obstacle onto the slider.

The subject of legs most weld on and bolt ons don't have very many. We put 5 or 6 i forget on ea. slider for mine. which is more than the typical slider. Again that helps with load distribution and overall rigidity.

All of this came from me paying very close attention to EVERY slider I have seen on other people's trucks and the ones I use to have and noticing the short comings and trying to address them. 12th state knocked it out in execution and also added to the design and leg placement from their experience.

I think if you use enough grade 8 bolts in bolt on they are just as good as the weld on. It is always hard to get enough good reviews because most people will say whatever they have is the best. I ride with people that have both weld on and bolt on and have beat the crap out of them and they are both still good.

May need to watch for Ice Friday morning in a line from Mobile to Montgomery to Lafayette.

    From AlabamaWX

MILD AFTERNOON; RAIN TONIGHT: Temperatures will warm to near 60 degrees across Alabama today… it will be the warmest day of the week, and most likely the warmest day for the next two weeks. Clouds will increase, and rain will creep into the northwest corner of the state by late afternoon ahead of a cold front. Rain is likely over the northern half of the state tonight as the front pushes southward.

A fairly complex winter weather pattern is ahead for the next two days.

TOMORROW: As cold air rushes into the northern counties of Alabama tomorrow morning, there is a chance there could be some light freezing rain or freezing drizzle north of a line from Sulligent to Cullman to Scottboro, and an attendant chance of some light bridge icing. Not expecting widespread issues, but travelers need to be aware of that potential. A cold rain will fall on the rest of the state, ending from north to south during the day. Temperatures will hold in the 30s, and some communities across the Tennessee Valley will hover around freezing all day.

FRIDAY: A wave of low pressure forms along the front in the northern Gulf of Mexico, and precipitation will spread northward again. With cold air in place, a period of freezing rain is likely Friday morning in a broad zone from Mobile to Montgomery to Lafayette. This won’t be a crippling ice storm, but it could lead to some bridge icing, so if you area traveling over the southwest or central part of Alabama be aware of that potential during the morning hours.

To the north, some light snow, or snow flurries are possible Friday over parts of East and Northeast Alabama, where the cold air is deeper. But models continue to trend drier, and odds of accumulating snow, or travel impact, look low at this point.

Temperatures will remain in the 30s all day Friday pretty much statewide.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The weekend will be cold and dry with mostly sunny days and fair nights. After a low well down in the 20s Saturday morning, the high Saturday afternoon will be in the mid to upper 40s, followed by a high in the 47-51 degree range Sunday afternoon.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry with a high in the 50s. Then, another low forms in the Gulf of Mexico Monday night, and rain will return to the state Tuesday. For now thermal values look too warm for any wintry precipitation…. dry weather returns Wednesday through Friday with temperatures at or below average. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1961: Eight inches of snow fell and caused crippling traffic jams around the Washington D.C. area on the eve of John Kennedy’s inauguration. The president-elect had to cancel dinner plans and, in a struggle to keep other commitments, reportedly had only 4 hours of sleep. Former President Herbert Hoover was unable to fly into Washington National Airport due to the weather, and he had to miss the swearing-in ceremony.

ON THIS DATE IN 2008: A winter storm brought 3 to 5 inches of snow across parts of Marengo, Dallas, Perry, and Chilton counties in Central Alabama. Amounts in the Birmingham metro were generally under 1/2 inch.

Anyone interested in a G48 with TruGlo night sights? Never fired. I was able to pick up a G48 MOS, so no need for 2

You can get a brand new one for $499 plus tax and then $50 for the sights. I'd want $550 for mine. I'm not willing to take a big loss, if any, on guns :D

That's fair on the price. I'll keep an eye out for if you post the other one. Not in dire need, just would like to have a truck gun so I can keep the 19 at the house.

I ran across a 43x MOS Monday at one of the LGS....but the rat bastards wanted $599 plus tax. I'll wait and grab one at Academy for $529 plus tax. I refuse to pay that upcharge.
