so my daughter asked me over dinner tonight about the meet and she made three requests. smores, offroading and camping. i am not planning on staying the night, but are smores an option? she was very adamant about me asking... have to love the priorities of a six year old.

I'm in Country Walk, across from the old NCR complex
I'm busting out the hockey skates tonight, if stay on the sidewalks and driveways should be all good.

Haha... offroading, smores, and camping... Thats adorable... Yes smores are an option as long as we can get a fire going. When the weather gets warmer you would be more than welcome to come down and camp. Maybe we can plan a meet when everyone camps, just a thought if anyone is interested.

thanks for that laugh. it woke up my wife, but thankfully i was watching something funny so i didn't have to try and explain it to her.

i know we would be interested. i'll bring smores this time and something else, just in case we can't get a fire going.

When I lived w/ my mom in Batavia (Clermont County) our power went out so much that we got a generator that would kick on everytime the power went out. The first year we lived there the power would go out atleast 3-5 times a month. It never was for a min either, it would be for a couple of hours. The longest time it went out was 6 days. I kinda felt bad b/c as you drove down our street at night everyones house was dark and ours was lite up like a x-mass tree.

yeah thats how my Dad's house is in Milford. He ended up getting one of those generators like what your Mom has put in. Something about those power lines out that way... very sensitive. The longest I have had power out was for 2 days when the hurricane blew threw here. It was kind of fun to not have to worry about computers and crap like that but sucked because we had to throw out a bunch of food.

Yeah the power grid out there sucks... when that hurricane blew threw I lost power at my house for 4 days. I had just gone to the grocery store and bought a ton of food. My dad had power so I had to take it all up there and didn't waste anything. It was fun for 2 days b/c all we did when we came home was play with the dogs. But it started to get old not being able to cook on anything except the grill and no being able to keep anything cold. I'm not much for roughing it!

a big branch just broke on my neighbors tree a few minutes ago. our power is still on luckily. we have underground utilities so we dont have to worry about branches taking out the power lines but its still a good possibility we could lose power. ice is getting thick! still raining too

We had just gone to the grocery as well. we grilled up what we could on the grill as well. haha
dang! good luck! I have underground utilities at my Mom's but we still lose power occasionally. We have the power lines right up the street that constantly get snapped or some moron runs in to the poles and knocks them over.

i thought it was fun when the hurricane blew through and had no power too. it's funny, my wife is a labor and delivery nurse and they had a huge increase in the # of babies born 9 months after the hurricane.

there is one way to make sure the food doesnt go bad. eat it! we ate like kings when the power was out so it didnt all go to waste. :hungry:

We ate out almost every night. The first night we cooked on the grill but the other nights we ate out. We didn't have any food to cook.

hahahaha... I believe it..... I guess that was the only good thing about the hurricane. The power is out, its dark, candles lit, your gf lives w/ you, there isn't anything else to do, hummmm??? What to do?

All my power lines are above ground and my dying tree in the back yard hangs over my cable/power lines. I just looked out the back window and they 2 are hanging kinda low with the weight of the ice. As long as the wind doesn't kick up to much I should be fine. If not the sec gens Tacomas have an awesome power outlet in the bed that powers just about nothing!
