    New (old) guy here,howdy all.
I traded my 08 base 2wd 4cyl auto tacoma for a 22 black access cab 2wd SR.I thought my dealer's offer for the 08 was pretty generous considering the deterioration of vehicles here in the snowbelt.I have owned the 08 since the end of 07.It has served me well.My original battery lasted for 11 years,I am sure it is because it had no power anything.I miss roll up windows! Not one for mods, just added tie downs and bed mat for transporting my motorcycles.
I ordered the SR at the end of 11/21,drove it home today 1/18.It seems like a very different truck.I think after driving the same vehicle for nearly 15 years ,you kind of get used to it.I sure don't miss the vibrating glovebox door,ha.I can't give any impressions because I drove straight home to get it out of the salt and slop on the roads today.I want to get mudflaps on it before paint is damaged, maybe tomorrow I will get it done.
    She's a nice basic beauty.All that I need.
The only image I have of my old truck and it wasn't the subject of pic.Rather it was an old Honda that I restored for a friend. The pic is from 2018,just before rust started rearing it's ugly head.

Damn... longest I've owned a car was 6 years, that was the one I just sold. Tacoma I test drove felt similar, minus all the rattles and what not.

Does anyone in New England area have recent experience with shipping times? My truck entered freight status on Dec 27 and still no truck.

Wonder if snow and ice storms we had delayed the shipping? NE trucks come from the SE ports, right?

Located in PA. Truck was built on 1/3 but scheduled delivery on 2/8. I saw some others were build on 1/11 and have a 1/25 scheduled delivery, so I am assuming we are having some delays NE.

I believe you're referring to my truck, and I'm in GST region so that lines up I think. Shorter travel from Baja to Houston Port, and we don't really get snow down here. I personally will believe the 25th delivery when I see it, but that's what they're telling me.

John, I am also in PA. How did you figure your build date? The day the temp VIN stopped working? If so, then my build date was 1/12, with delivery dates expected from 2/8-2/14. My birthday week :)

GB, that is your build date. The day the Temporary VIN stops working means it was built and assigned a permanent VIN. So you're looking at roughly a month delivery. Sounds like 2 weeks to port, 1 week at port, 1 week to your dealer. I'd assume something like that, educated guess.

I just got an allocation for an Electric lime Taco with an automatic. They are building it next week, zero markup..

Typical American, I really wanted a manual.

If you don’t want an automatic then why are you buying an automatic?

I have an 07 sport with a manual. I've never owned an automatic (I'm 45) and for Zero markup, if my dealer does find a manual I'll just sell the automatic. But I'm just tired of this old CD player and cigarette lighter taco.

Gotcha - yeah, maybe you could trade it for like a used manual to wash out the costs on the used market...hope you find one! It's a shame to get so close to what you want and then miss out on the transmission.

Alright guys maybe I’m being impatient maybe not. I placed an order with a deposit on 12/8. After seeing all these allocations and timelines I messaged my salesman the other day and he tells me they haven’t heard anything yet. That was on 1/14. Over a month with no response on the order placed, does that seem right?

How specific is your allocation? I.E., manual, certain colour, TRD Pro.... all of those things seem to be what holds people up.

You are dead on bro.. I was hung up on my manual transmission. Dealer knew I hate autos. Called anyway and was like "bro, I'll probably never get your manual " and I just got an allocation on an automatic" think fast and hard. I can always drive it in manual mode. My point is, be willing to sacrifice or not get your truck.

And in this market, what do you have to lose with a truck "not perfect" go get on more lists. They sell used with 6k miles 4 new prices
