Placed a $1000 non refundable deposit at South Pointe Toyota in Calgary the other day for a 2022 MGM Offroad Doublecab. Slava quoted me 6-8 weeks wait time... After reading this thread, I'm concerned I won't get my truck for 6 months! Did they quote a shorter time to lock in my deposit?

My salesman was always pretty honest about it. Ordered in September and he told me to expect it hopefully before the new year but no promises. Came in mid December. Some of gotten theirs sooner than the 3-6 month wait as well. I wouldn't worry about it unless you really need a new vehicle.

There may have been a truck like you requested in the system and your salesman saw that and scooped it up.

Why non-refundable? They worried if you back out the truck will sit on their lots unsold for months?

Definitely hard times for everyone I think on car sales. Dealers have nothing. The army green I was going to get is gone. But I left a fully refundable deposit on an unclaimed income if unit. It won’t be in till March. Dealer offered a fair trade value on my current vehicle and hair entered the value for when the Tacoma comes in. With all this crazy stuff going on I’m tempered to find another one to drive for a few months till the one I want to come in arrives. Then trade or sell the other Tacoma. With what dealers want for used right now maybe I can make a few $$$. At least break even

2022 Tacoma TRD Pro (ELM) On Order
I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro in electric lime metallic ordered from last July (2021). One of the first ones or pre order that early.
I have been updated a few times over the months waiting.
looks like the dealership I ordered through got 1 verified allocation for this truck and it has a ETA of April 4th for delivery.
In the meantime, this same dealer asked if I wanted a 2022 TRD Pro in the magnetic grey metallic instead because they have one coming in early March for delivery.
I said at this point I might as well wait for the exact truck I want and I passed on it.

thought I would just give guys a heads up that the TRD Pro’s are coming for early March depending on the colour and depending on if the dealership gets allocated one at all.

    What province/city?
Strange they would have a Pro coming to your dealer that's not pre sold. I thought Toyota Canada would fill all the pre sold orders first. I'm sure there has to be at least one person with a Grey Pro pre-order in the country.

Anyone know if you can still get a pro. Or are all allocations spoken for.

    Where are you located?

I found out there are 14 automatics and 3 manual pros currently allocated to dealers in Western Canada that are not sold yet. All ETA kind of mid March to mid April

How did you find that out? The whole allocation process, especially for Pros seems to be a mystery. Dealer I spoke to says they don’t know how many they will get and they are not a vehicle they can “order”.

I thinks once a pro or any truck has been allocated it’s hard for a different dealer to get it. But last week when I was talking to my dealer he told me Toyota Canada is starting to pull allocations and give them to dealers that have a truck sold. That’s why a lot of them put MR/MRS Smith on it

when I put $500 down on my Tacoma in early October I was told the only way the dealer can get trucks right now was with a name attached to the “order” with a photocopy of my drivers license as proof I’m a real person

I'm sure any sales manager or dealer principal can look this up in their system. Or at least they should be able to. I only had them look at Western Canada. There are currently 4 headed to Calgary for example that aren't sold yet. They are very hard to get yeah. Calgary and area have 8 dealers and only 4 are on the way before May now that aren't spoken for yet.

    Doubtful they aren’t spoken for.

This was just posted by a dealer in Ontario:

    https://youtu.be/oHGLn-RDKQA

At 3:00 he tries to explain the allocation. At about 5:00, he goes on to say effectively getting a Tundra TRD Pro is unlikely as they already have a few requests.
