Yes, this is true about memories and I have several younger days road trips.
Update on the Blazer door. Perfection after putting the new hinge pin bushings in. I was so delighted that I called Dennis right away to share the news.
We really got lucky when he welded it. The placement worked out perfect. I had my doubts and thought I might have to drill/step drill a hole in the back side to pound the strike out some. I was even prepared to try the adjustment trick that @Tacoma Mike shared with my floor jack because had it right there supporting the door (4x4) on Jack.

I've had more than a few windshield replaced. That's a weird OCD thing I have, having a decent windshield and keeping it clean....like constantly :anonymous: I like to see where I'm going.
I stay on top of repairs of chips and cracks before they have a chance to grow. Last window repair kit from Amazon even came with a little UV light to cure the juice.
When I get them replaced, if at all possible anymore I don't use safelite. I just think they're glass is easier to get damaged, and I've had the bifocal look that was mentioned on one. Passenger side luckily.

So many windshields over the years .

One that sticks out was dropping a engine in by myself trying to get things the last few inches put the transmission into the windshield .

    Things happen

First time doing sheetrock (disaster ) I had so much mud on the walls I got a 1/2 sheet electric sander and went at it. Turned out all right.

    **Now for the lesson**

Don't sand with the furnace running -- it looked like a snow storm hit the adjacent kitchen. :frusty:

:rofl:that there's a frustrating job. Even more frustrating when you've watch someone that skilled with the mud knife and after 2-3 passes and a quick swipe with sand pad and its ready for paint.
I did the finish work on inside of garage at old house. Piles of dust at every joint...piles:rofl:

    Re: Poll

Wife currently has a crack on the driver's side, up high and out of line of sight. Insurance will cover it as we have glass coverage on her '21 Odyssey. I had the windshield on my truck replaced in May of '20 at Safelite and it's held up so far. Traffic around here is pretty bad and most everyone has cracked windscreens around here.

Being Drywall for the most attaches to wood I am not allowed to touch it at all but to carry it up3 flights of stairs.

I was not allowed to weasel out of that .

Well, it was an adventurous afternoon...

Turns out the gauge on a fuel oil tank can get stuck at say the 1/4 full mark. :censored:
Hauled 60 gallons of fuel with the daily van -- 20 gallons at a time, change the filter just on principal, splash myself with fuel in kind of a rite of passage tradition and back on line.

In case anybody ever wondered, dropping a wooden dip stick into a completely dry oil tank makes kind of a hollow echo bell sound...

I bought my 100 gallon transfer tank with electric transfer pump just for doing that after the first adventure with 5 gallon cans.

We had a high of 16° here today with wind. Tomorrow supposed to be colder and start out with a negative 4 degrees.

Usually I put two 55 gallon drums in the F-250, I have a small electric pump too. Unfortunately the F-250 doesn't have any brakes at the moment.

So the plan is the van and the can man!

There you go -- I had sun and 42, not too a bad day to spray yourself with fuel oil.
