Do not wash! If you wash them after you'll ruin the next load and probably mess up the washer.
Yeah, pine tar is already waterproofed those areas.

Wish I kept my last washer just for the nasty stuff. Worked great but the wife no likey.

What kind of wax are you thinking? I wouldn’t mind trying this myself on a few jackets I have. I was going to use some kind of water proofing spray or something for fabric. Not familiar with this, do you mean actual wax?

Yeah, actual wax. I’m using Otter wax, you melt it and apply it with a paint brush, then go over it all with a heat gun to melt it in and even it all out. You can use a block and melt it in also or others have made a concoction with wax, mineral spirits and tung oil.

Thanks - it did well for this storm. We got around 10" of heavy wet snow.

Traction is pretty good. I did get over-confident clearing the snow banks near the road and got it stuck once, but now I know the limitations. If I had more hills, I'm not sure how it would do. I think it'd be okay if I went slowly enough to make sure the snow is fully cleared so the tractor has that benefit for traction. That may be the use case for an x700 4WD or a 1025R.

The blower also wanted to float on top of the snow if I tried to clear it too fast. Not a big deal, though - you can either let that happen and go over it again, or just slow down and it'll stay at ground level. I suspect that would be less of an issue if this was fluffier snow. Despite the weight, it had no problem throwing it. It's got a 25 HP Kawasaki on it which is evidently plenty.

I was considering selling the ATV's plow and bracket, but I think I'll keep that. For an inch or two, it's still much quicker to zip around on that and I doubt the $100 I'd get is worth the hassle of pulling the mounting bracket off. I also measured it and it's about 7'4" with the plow on it, so I should be able to fit it sideways in my future 8' wide shed without a problem.

oil and tars are gonna be water repellant as it is, i think if you just waxed the whole thing and the rest that already has something on it should work itself out fine. like the others said, could mess up your washer if you tried to redo it later. i know my hiking stuff says to run the rinse cycle before putting anything in with the techwash stuff, so maybe if you did wash the waxed stuff it could get rinsed out but i wouldnt risk it, just spot clean

I’ve been driving the beaches for around twenty years for fishing and family beach days. It’s great but the beaches are closed due to plover nesting almost all summer lately. Here’s a few photos of what it’s like out there. There’s also a lot of seals, sharks and whales.

I just rolled up to 142,000 tonight. The miles go on much slower now that I live in the same area that I play in.

I probably rolled to 45k on my way home from work and didn't notice it. Damn.

Depends if I get a work from home gig or not. If I do then I'll probably rack up miles if I can do it on the road. If not then I'll be home a lot :|

It'll be 2 years in June that I've had the truck, 49k of these are mine, and 40 of those were in the first year...so I'm already doing much better this year haha. Commuting 90ish miles a day for work and then driving it for work sometimes really racked em up before I even realized

I'm about to roll over 255k in the landcruiser. But it is a 98, so that's basically low mileage.

Just hit 180k with mine, but now that I have a daily I only put at most 5-6k a year whereas I put 19k a year on the fusion.

I've gone way the other way. I used to do 35-40k miles a year driving back and forth to my previous-previous companies Freeport, Me office. Then I switched to another company and only had to drive to Burlington, which was still ~100 miles/ day plus all the other driving I did, so more like 20-25k/ year. Now I work from home and only really drive to take the giblets to activities or run errands.
