Hey guys I know this is a long shot, but just figured I’d get the word out. I got my full size spare stolen today in Santa Cruz. So if you guys come across it on CL or Facebook market place let me know! Thanks guys and sorry to clutter the feed with BS like this, wish I didn’t have to! I work at a brewery so if you do come across it or get it back beer and a cash reward are in store for you!

Did you have a cable lock on yours?

Wondering if that would have even made a difference.

What’s their @? I was thinking about potentially reaching out at some point to see if they could help me out, if I can’t find one.

I didn’t but might get one anything to make it more difficult. I mean that cable could probably be cut pretty easily though if they really wanted it I guess

Nothing is ever secure enough from someone who wants it enough, best you can do is make it more annoying than it's worth in hopes it makes the other guys stuff more appealing to the asshole thief.

This is just a simple keyed bike lock I'm sure it would be easy to cut but it's more than just the three locking lug nuts, which is more than just three normal hex nuts.

I do hope you get it back and the thug gets caught. Any local business surveillance you can ask for?

True that! I can see my truck in the cameras at my work, but I don’t think there’s anything that we’ll be able to identify a person in, I’m gonna look at the cameras tomorrow though

Where abouts in Santa Cruz was it stolen from? Not that I’d expect it to still be in the same area, but I’ll keep an eye open for it. I live on the west side. I’m mounting my SCS wheels in a couple weeks and this has been a fear of mine. Hope it turns up.

It was on swift street started talking to people about it, and pretty much everyone is saying if you want to keep anything make sure it’s bolted down. Been fine over here on the east side for months, but my truck spends 1 week over there while I’m working a 6am to 230 and it’s gone. Heard a story of a dude going into Safeway and came out with his truck bed shell taken! Make sure you get some locking lug nuts I’m definitely getting some…

If they want something, they'll take it tbh. I wouldn't be surprised :anonymous:

How in the hell do you get away with stealing a shell!?

Speaking of Safeway, there are a few cars at the Almar location that I’ve noticed never move and they’re completely packed with random stuff. It might not be a bad idea to take a peak through a few windows if you’re in the area. Close enough to the breweries.

I have the splined lugs, but I will definitely be looking into a set of locking lugs as well.

Yeah I’m planning to take a few laps around the areas where there are cars and Rvs like that tomorrow after work just to see if I can find anything. That is if I have all 4 tires on my truck after my shift

Honestly though no idea dude, but wouldn’t put it past some of these dudes that are desperate enough to take whatever they can get their hands on

savages. Always worry about shit getting stolen down there. Lived down in SC for years and had all my stuff stolen on the west side. I will def keep a lookout. It's a pretty obvious tire.

    What an asshole.

Sorry this happened to you man.

Do you have catalytic converter protection as well? If not…might wanna look into that.

Ha, I know you’re joking but I’d be super paranoid!

Yea I’m hearing stories all the time of people taking absolutely anything in this town.
