Hey guys here soon I am going to Monstaliner my 2001 Jeep Cherokee xj, and see how it turns out and if I like it I'll probably do my Beloved Tacoma. I'm probably doing the XJ GRraber Blue, not sure what I should do my Taco, she's the Steel Violet color (my favorite color of all time) but the color is pretty faded in a lot of spots.

If you use raptor liner it can be tinted with the same color as your truck. Automotive paint suppliers have it and can mix your paint on the spot.

Oh wow I never knew, that'd be pretty badass to do! I'll definitely look into it, thanks for the tip man. I love the stock color of my baby

No problem. I'm a huge raptor liner fan. Even the aerosol version is great. It's catalyzed so it dries and performs like actual bedliner. I did a set of doors with it and it's held up great off road.

The texture can also be fine tuned (using the non aerosol version) if you don't want it too rough.

I Raptorlined my truck Hot Rod red and generic black. I love the look and it holds up great!

Sprayed it on with an air compressor and the gun they provide you. Super easy process.

Quick spray down with a pressure washer does the trick

Ditto on the Raptor liner. I did the bumper w Monsta to try it first but I’m so glad I chose the Raptor liner. The end result of the Monstaliner texture wasn’t as good.

I love my Raptor paint job. But be warned, It gives a very different look compared to paint. It's not glossy, and does not show any metallic, if yours has metallic in it. It saves any need to repaint under hood, inside doors, etc. Mine was done about a year and a half ago, and no change, looks just like it did the day I finished it.

I do recommend their adjustable spray gun, and I thinned just a bit to give a smoother texture. See my build thread for some images and more detail.

Does this stuff give any problems with rust? Like moisture getting between the metal and liner? Like the frames and some undercoatings? My little rig needs a paint job bad but I hate to spend a lot of money on a hunting, beat around truck?

Def do the color matched raptor liner if you can. That way it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb when you open your doors or the hood.

It's all about the prep work. If you have rust on the panels you intend to coat, you need to do some proper body work to remove that rust first. If you do a crap job prepping the surface, it'll peal off, but the prep worked isn't as involved as it would be for a normal paint job. I know that for me, my clear coat is coming off in spots, so I need to make sure I sand that off completely before coating with the bedliner.

Though nothing is perfect, if rust is an issue in your area, these coats really don't prevent anything, they only delay the inevitable. But the more you keep the truck CLEAN and DRY, the longer it will last, coating nor not.

A friend I went to school with is a body and paint guy probably just let him do it. I live in wesy KY so I am on the border of rust but it really is not an issue here much. I was going to do the same or close to same color. Thanks for the replies guys.

I had some rust issues on mine. Just sanded it down and covered it in primer before spraying. 0 issues

Sure. The gray is from using an adjustable nozzle for Raptor liner (2 turns at 60 psi) and the black door handle is when I used their rattle can 2k black Raptor for some trim parts. B17D443F-EF6C-4EB8-A1A1-1A1A1BBA3BF2.jpg
