How much did it cost to replace the windshield? I heard it like 5 to 600 cause the sensor.

2017, no TSS. $495 through safelite. New one cracked within 2 months when another rock targeted me. I have not re-replaced yet.

2017 no TSS, Geico insurance - free repair, $200 deductible for basic windshield replacement (no gopro mount). You pay the difference if you want OEM replacement glass.

Some states require insurance to pay for the new windshield with no $ from vehicle owner.

I live in one of those. :D

Same here in SC, BUT the insurance company lists it as a claim, so they get it back from you later. Learned the hard way :(

They do list it as a claim. But I've never had a premium change over a comp claim.

    Which I'm grateful for.

My deductible is $500. The guy was like the windshield is $495 or you can go through your insurance and pay your deductible. o_O

Haven't had to replace mine, but my wifes car with TSS was $500 for windshield thru Gerber Glass, and then since i was already out $500 for my comp deductible, i figured i would get the calibration as well thru the dealer, however, I didn't have any error lights or issues after the windshield change. My understanding is that if they do NOT unplug the sensors and change out the windshield/re-install, you don't necessarily need to recalibrate. But since I was already getting is covered thru insurance i figured what the hell, but if i were to pay OOP, i'd skip the calibration step unless i had error warnings. IIRC, the calibration was about $450 thru the dealer

Roughly, this was 2 years ago, so no telling what covid has done to those prices.

Just replaced mine 4 months ago with SafeLite. I think it was about $650 on a 2020 Tacoma WITH TSS and recalibration included. My windshield got a huge rock chip that spider-webbed pretty badly overnight.

Cool thing for me was the first 2 panes of glass they put on were non-OEM. But both of them have visible distortion on the corners. On the 2nd change out, they told me they would just get me an OEM pane. 3rd changeout they put an OEM one and I've been happy with it ever since. I only paid $300 because of my insurance.

Ouch. Yeah, mine is $250 and I was able to get OEM glass.
