Sunuva fattest ducking diddly ducks. My first ever thread (also first post) on this site turned into me asking a transmission rebuild question that went unanswered
That leap of faith I took to finish the rebuild ended up with the story in this thread

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/should-i-fight-the-transmission-shop.670487/

@eon_blue @CS_AR @Wulf @anyoneelsethatpostedIforgotabout that transmission and it's 5th gear pop out has plagued me since then.. legitimately has keept me up at night(some nights), and has made me question alot of major projects I've done at work where I have taken similar mechanical "leaps of faith"

I finally have resolution. May 2020 to Jan 2022. 1 year, 8 months and 11 days and I finally have my answer. I installed the FU$#@%& 5th gear synchro on backwards! The time stamp 8:57 to 9:31 of this video, from a channel I only rarely watch, explains why I failed in my first ever 5spd transmission rebuild.

@Kwikvette I've got a spare OEM wind deflector for the sun roof. Small stress fractures and no hardware for it though. If I had known someone would have needed the LC badge for the gate I could have got the one from the junkyard where I got this. It's rare to see them there and they get picked to death when they arrive.

    Thank you for the offer!

It's actually the smaller things that I'll eventually get to for instance -

I need a stereo trim/bezel, available brand new.

I need a driver side interior trim piece that surrounds the door latch.

I need to clean/lube any and all rear door lock actuator parts since they don't fully lock/unlock.

Diagnose the passenger rear window, does not go down.

Trace the stereo wiring as the front left has no sound; when using the fader L to R and so forth, the front right always has sound.

Find out the screw size and length for the pull-out cupholder. It has none and it slides out if I pull it out.

Replace the rear leather seats, once my leather order arrives.

Replace the entire center console and shift plate, once my order arrives.

Replace the steering damper, once that arrives too.

Replace suspension; need to figure out what coils I end up with.

And remove a few things possibly like the auxiliary lights and CB radio.

I know I've asked this question before but I guess I still don't get it.

Is discord like the LT thread?

There are others now. Dan got some of the Tundra guys to join and there is now another 4th gen 4Runner guy.

The Discord server we are in has been posted in this thread several times. Just search for it. @Empty_Lord has posted the link before.

I mean, it'd be awkward if we're all playing and you're not :burp:

    But yeah it'd be ok.
