Yes especially the trans extension housing to the crawlbox. This is used as an extra oil cavity to increase oil capacity.

That's if it's a 5 speed. If it's an auto, you don't want them mixing.

The old style adapters were that way. Autos now share the same advantage. Hence why its important to loctite the aluminum seal housing coupler and rtv a quality seal at the crawlbox input.

This is what keeps the two fluids from mixing. This is a bigger deal on autos since the bearing and seal must be removed from the tail housing due to smaller bearing ID as well as a splash shield. Vs the manual config where the splined coupler fits through the ID tail housing bearing.
    Screenshot_20220115-200326_Chrome.jpg

It is quite odd over the years most manuals have to seal the blue arrows as the holes for the tcase mount thread all the way through vs the autos that do not.

Can confirm this as the newer crawlbox adapter plates allow like 2.3 quarts of gear oil the sealed version that uses like .8 or so.

Also, this is why auto guys should make sure the additional pressed in breather/vent stays unclogged to prevent pressure build up and not blow pass the seal. This is the hole at the top of the trans extension housing.

So when I pulled my t case it had a vent house going to the tranny coming out the shifter base, is the right thing to do just to extend just extend that hose. It’s what I did I just want to verify.

also what about the vent on the side of the t case?

Also had a weird clearance issue with the t case shift rail and the trail gear adaptor. Had to clearance out like 3/16”. Doesn’t seem like a common problem.

Any pics? Helps tell the story of whats going on. Connected breather hose sounds normal. The adapter being off sounds like another guy on here had the issue and ended up getting a new adapter plate sent from TG.

The smaller hose just go ahead and lengthen and reconnect. This is the breather from the tcase to the trans extension housing. Most tacoma tcases, had another breather thats capped on the tcase housing itself (only need to mess with if your clocking the tcase). I think that is what the other hose is on one side, not sure where it "ends" or connects to. Most twin sticks at the shifter base will have a breather tapped. This would get rid of the need to connect tcase to extension housing.

Has anyone heard anything from NWF recently? In November they said their triple shifters would be done "end of the year", and I haven't heard about the status of them since then. I have sent them two messages in the last two weeks asking for a status update with no response (via Instagram, which I know may not be the best way to contact them, but I have messaged them a few times through Instagram in the past with prompt responses). Before giving them a call, I figure I would ask on here if anyone has heard anything.

Good question, I heard the same, but have yet to hear from them about it.

I will inquire by email also. let us know if you call. I am almost ready for that step.

I was chatting with them in November about their driveline brake kit. They said before 2022. I reached out last week and haven’t heard back from them

I ordered a case 11/28/21 and havent heard anything either. order status shows "new" still. When i ordered they were calling for an 8 week lead time, so that puts it somewhere at the end of January (but im kind of expecting it to be longer). I'm still gonna wait before reaching out, but curious to hear if yall get in touch with them

FWIW - I just got off the phone with Kyle at NWF to officially put myself on the waitlist as a new order with an estimated wait of 8 weeks from today. I'll keep you posted. I thought I was already on the list from when I called in November or December when I called, but at that time they weren't ready to take new orders, and I hadn't paid yet so I guess I never actually made the list. He did say they had a new system in place for orders and new e-mail they were working with, but that they have a batch going through heat treat and are going to be reaching out to customers with existing orders shortly. I don't know that means time frame wise, but hopefully in the next few weeks for those of you with orders. He also said that folks who ordered triple shifters in the latest batch will be getting them with their order and I could order them with mine.

Hopefully that's good news for those waiting.

I’ve reached out to NWF multiple times with no response via email and am getting a bit annoyed. I’m absolutely ok with the product being delayed but the lack of communication is disappointing. Hopefully this is a one off due to holiday, we don't need another marlin crawler.
