This is the best I have. Before I cleaned up the cuts (sanded with dremel).

Has anyone fit an 18” Diode Dynamics light bar in the 20” spot on these bumpers? All I have seen is comments on the 30”. I’m curious if this extra inch gap on each side looks bad?

I have the 20" version and put some Bajas in there. I would think the inch void on either side would be pretty noticeable. I wouldn't do it. That's just me though.

Very exciting to get those order updates from SSO. It’s rad that the process is so transparent even if it takes months. Hopefully bearings weeks away from shipping

Will the Badlands Apex 12,000lb winch work with the Slimline tube on a 2022 Taco?

It will but you will have to relocate the control box. I tried for a weekend to get it in without relocation and even went as far as to trim a significant portion of the radiator support. In the end I figured it was just simpler to relocate. You could probably make it fit if you completely cut out the radiator support that gets in the way but it will still be very bad to angle it in correctly because in order to clear the bumper under the grill you have to lower the bumper but once you get clear of that you are up against the frame horns and so there’s very little room to maneuver. So I would either go with the Smittybilt which lets your relocate to the side or prepare to rig up a mount for the Apex box. I couldn’t pass up the $400 deal on the Apex so I went that route. Here’s a few pics of my install.

Thanks for the ping. 15 months, and I haven't seen any wear/deformation on my inserts yet between SC and WV weather. Still catching up on a few recent orders from some of y'all as well!

Getting close to ordering this bumper, such a fantastic look. I read through this thread but didn't see (or missed) and conversation about skid plates.

For those who have either the full plate or tube front bumper, what front skid plate are you running? Also, was there any modification to either the skid or bumper.

    Thanks in advance Tacoma peoples.

That's a pretty slick place for the camera. I assume you can't see any part of the truck in the image. Does that make distance judgements a little tricky?

I kept the lines for distance . I haven’t really gauged them . I didn’t have a big enough step drill bit to make the whole wider . You can see a small edge of the hole I cut out but no way does it interfere with the camera and what your looking at .

If you gave an update I didn't see it, so I apologize for that if I missed it. But were you able to get it to work? Looking at the tube bumper with a 30" cutout and DD light bar is the one I'd want to go with.
