Have ya'll checked out the GSSF / blue label pricing? Basically pay $35 a year for "membership" and get one blue label discount purchase. Might save a few pennies on that 43x MOS, giccerphil.

The Blue Label on the 43x is less than $400. It's a hell of a savings. I use to have a friend that was ex-mil that would buy them, keep them a bit and then sell to me for that price. He passed away a few years ago.

That's how I got my 36 and 43. Definitely solid savings.

That's a shame about your friend, and what a great friend! Breaking in a Glock for you and passing along the savings.

I never thought to check if a citizen could do "Blue Label" deals. One thing about Mr. Bryant.........I think he could buy 2 or 3 a year at that cost.

I think they get two a year now.

That GSSF deal is a good one. You get updates, etc, from Glock throughout the year. When you're ready to use it, just take your card to the blue label dealer and they do the rest.

    http://www.gssfonline.com

The Glock shoots at Central Alabama Gun Club are really great too! I've shot a couple of them (not competitively). They give away five or six firearms every year at that match.

    From AlabamaWX

COLD, WET: A cold front continues to push southward across Alabama early this morning, accompanied by a large area of rain. Temperatures are approaching the freezing mark across the Tennessee Valley at daybreak, and there remains some outside chance of a little light freezing rain or drizzle over the northern third of the state through mid-morning, but major icing issues are not expected. The rain should be confined to the southern half of the state by afternoon; parts of North Alabama could see a bit of clearing as the air becomes drier. Temperatures will likely hold in the 30s most of the day across North/Central Alabama with a chilly north wind.

For most of Alabama, tonight and tomorrow will be cold and dry… after starting the day in the 20s early tomorrow, the high will be in the 38-44 degree range. Some sun is possible over the northern counties tomorrow, but clouds hang tough over South Alabama, and some rain is possible near the Gulf Coast as a wave forms on the front to the south. Odds of any freezing rain down in South Alabama now look very low tomorrow morning.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The look for a good supply of sunshine both days; the high Saturday will be in the 46-50 degree range, followed by highs between 48 and 54 Sunday. Morning lows will be well down in the 20s… some colder spots over North Alabama could reach the upper teens by daybreak Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be a dry day with a high in the 50s, but rain returns to the state late Monday night into Tuesday morning with the next wave moving in from the west. Rain amounts should be 1/2 inch or less, and no wintry precipitation is expected. Then, the weather looks dry Wednesday through Friday with temperatures a little below average. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1937: The wettest Inaugural Day of record with 1.77 inches of rain in 24 hours. Temperatures were only in the 30s as Franklin D. Roosevelt was sworn in for his second term.

ON THIS DATE IN 2010: One of the strongest January tornado outbreaks in recent memory unfolded across East Texas and the western part of Louisiana. This event included the strongest tornado to hit the ArkLaTex in at least two decades. Six tornadoes touched down across the region. Thankfully, no deaths were reported.

So big and bulky and heavy… I never plan to break them:rofl:

hahahahaha sorry to leave y’all hanging:oops:

Tackled a hill with a few too many beans, rear end hopped up when I hit a rock, compressed real good when it landed and the driveshaft pretzeled and pulled itself out of the splines

I was lucky though, this was one of my buddies in an FJ just minutes after
    F544289A-E207-4AD2-A311-FDC1754056F4.jpg

We had another guy in a 3rd gen t4r bust a CV, another guy in a 5th gen t4r bust his winch and another guy in an XJ had his steering gearbox ripped off the frame.

I ended up having a few friends help out and get one of my spare driveshafts from my house all the way to me at Windrock so I was able to continue the weekend and have a casual cruise home. All in all was an awesome weekend

Ok so what hill/trail were you on that you did that to your DS? I bet when you landed it hit something to weaken it. Mine looked a lot like that after I hit a pointy rock the twist happened right where the damage was. The XJ ripping the steering box off is kinda normal that's why there are several reinforcements for them lol mine has all of them to prevent that. I feel your buddy in the FJ been there done that. Looks like fun in the snow I would love to wheel in the snow like that.

yes sir panther rock. It was a doozy coming back up in the snow/mud slush98742D4A-3987-4A38-830A-5A8A75A4CEDA.jpg

So the driveshaft may or may not have had some prior dents from rocks in it… it certainly had some weak points

Yeah that’s what I was hearing about the XJ when it happened. I know nothing about em. He actually JUST got it off the trail, we had to park it as we had no way to get it fixed or towed off the trail with what we had. Wrecker just picked him up a few mins ago. Thankfully it wasn’t vandalized or anything

I know I hate it for the guy in the FJ. I initially thought it was my rear end that blew when the DS went. I wanna see if I can find some third member/front diff cheap and build em up to be ready for when I blow mine out

Dang man! You should have called and I'd have tried to run that part up there. All I did during the snow was hit the fields next to my house and sling the kids around.

    From AlabamaWX

RADAR CHECK: A “wintry mix” of freezing rain and sleet is falling across parts of Mobile and Baldwin counties early this morning, where a winter weather advisory is in effect for the potential for scattered bridge icing. Otherwise, it is a dry, cold morning with temperatures mostly in the 20s over the northern 2/3 of Alabama. Precipitation today will be confined to the far southern part of the state in the broad zone from Mobile to Dothan… the rest of the state will be cold and dry with a mix of sun and clouds. The high this afternoon will be in the 38-42 degree range; the average high for Birmingham on January 21 is 55.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Look for sunshine in full supply both days… the high Saturday will be in the mid 40s, and close to 50 Sunday afternoon. Early morning temperatures will be very cold with lows in the 18-24 degree range.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be a dry day with a high in the 50s… the next wave brings rain back to the state late Monday night and Tuesday. Rain amounts should be around 1/2 inch, and there is no risk of severe thunderstorms. Then, the weather will be dry Wednesday through Friday with below average temperatures. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1985: It was one of the coldest morning on record across Alabama, and the entire eastern half of the U.S. At least 126 deaths were blamed on the cold snap. Some 90 percent of the citrus crop in Florida was destroyed in what the state called the “Freeze of the Century.” Florida’s citrus industry suffered $1.2 billion in losses as a result of the inclement weather. The public inauguration of President Ronald Reagan for his second term was held in the Capitol Rotunda instead of outside due to the cold weather, canceling the inaugural parade in the process.

Some low temperatures across Alabama on January 21, 1985…
