One of the few threads where no one has told you what a loser you are and you broke it because you didnt have bed stiffeners and 400 lights on the hood.
Or that it broke just because youre a really bad person. Thats the other typical reply.

What did the new axle shaft run you? Replacing both?

x2, I've seen IFS rear axle shafts survive 40s... but the 8" R&P never does

it's not too late though for that though... what a loser !!! shouldn't have wheeled it and kept it stock !!! :luvya: :D

This seems like it must have been manufacturing defect, I wouldn't expected the shaft to break where it did

I only ordered one to replace the one that broke. My local stealer has it for $530ish. much higher than what I see Chromoly aftermarkets going for.

given how many fitment options there are the aftermarket early Yota stuff is bulk manufactured which helps the price a ton.

FWIW I was quoted $450 ea for double splined RCVs for my Diamond housing at the start of 2020 with a couple month order delay... I imagine custom shafts would be even more now if you find someone willing to make one :bananadead:

    REM Polishing probably did that.

Not a bad idea hard corners are force multipliers.

Holy shit. I wonder what the price would have been 3 years ago?

When i was all about my Nissan Xterra before i finally sold it after almost 16 years, i had a friend at a nissan dealership. We would all call him for parts. He was the dealership's parts manager. He would get mad if dealers would add any more than 5 to 10 percent on parts. He was the man! We would always buy stuff from him. He works for CAT now. I have no Toyota hook up.
