Dozer doesn't like the access cab. Says he prefers the double cab.

I've got friends with two greyhounds and the dogs spend a lot of time in the back of their access cab... and seem very happy. Greyhounds aren't heavy dogs but they are long boned, tall, and they seem to be doing fine.

This is a forum, so I presume we all have license to ask ridiculous questions and make broad statements of opinion. That's the point.

I'm trying to figure out whether I can get an Access cab instead of Double cab (I want to sleep in the back). I have an Australian Sheppard that I want to be comfortable and happy in the truck and not feel trapped. The Access cab is tight.

I'm leaning Double cab short bed with a GFC. That way everyone can travel with enough space and even sleep in the truck.

As an owner of an access cab tacoma (and a regular cab F350) I can say the access cab is more than enough room for the full size German Shepherd I travel with. She loves its den-like qualities and she doesn't get jostled around as much off road as she does in a 4 door back seat. And I'd definitely recommend the GFC... but I am a bit biased :D

Luna loves the back as long as the window is open. If Carmen isn't with me then she's up front.

I've found this to be true recently as well... took the topper off the bed they usually travel in, I have a GSD and a beagle... surprisingly they both did fine in the access cab with plenty of room for them both. Even better with just one dog back there.
I did add a Raingler cargo net behind the seats to keep them contained, the GSD thinks she's a lap dog

Having a 6ft bed is nice, I couldn't deal with any smaller hauling dirt bikes and sleeping in the back with a topper.

But a GFC would be even sweeter, so it sounds like either might work for you!

Heck, yes ! My son carries his two bull mastiffs and they're no mid sized dogs. B.T.W. anyone who takes a long ride in a midsized vehicle will want to stop, get out and stretch.
