It's part of the bumper, probably have to cut it out or take the bumper off and see if you can take it off without cutting

Yeah, I don't think you're gonna like the answer OP. I'm pretty sure you have to remove the bottom bumper as one piece and replace the number 9 part from the rear. I've taken the bottom bumper off before and its not fun. Lots of plastic pieces that can go BOOM.

Hey I know this is an old post but did you ever get the lower grill on/ off? Mine got smashed this weekend and I’m going to be replacing it. I’m having the feeling it’s not going to be painless.

Has anyone done this yet? Once the bumper off is it an easy piece to replace?

I just installed new depo headlights which involved removing the front bumper and it's a frustrating little bastard of a task with so many plastic tabs just begging to break. Unfortunately I can't see any way you'd gain access to that lower grille without removing the bumper.

If it has its own separate part number then it should be removable, right?

Thats exactly how I had to do it. I didn't see anyone who's found a way around it.

It is removable--once the bumper is off. From the FSM you:

I wonder why that site says it doesn't fit my '22 TRD OR. I used a '21 because they didn't have a '22. I'd like to move mine behind the grille.
