I bought one on clearance. Nothing wrong with it and used the hardware it came with.
Install was pretty straight forward, but I had to trim some of the inside grab handle plastic for the screw to sit properly. Not a big deal since I had an exacto knife handy.

I had a real problem with the lower clip. Told my wife I’d be back in 20 mins going to install my handle. She had to come down to the garage for fear I was having a health issue after an hour. Mine is never voluntarily coming off.

Blue painters tape always does the trick on holding clips and nuts in place. Learned this from installing winches on plates.

They seem to be to the steering sensor.

This is what was sent in an email.
    • We have asked our vendor for the second install but it's really easy. If you turn your steering wheel sideways you will see two screws that go to your steering column cover panel. Remove those screws. That will allow you to remove the two piece covers. Under the steering wheel you will see a oem connector that looks like the new harness we just sent out. Disconnect that from underneath. Plus the new harness in and then the oem one into the new harness. Then just follow the rest of the other install guide that is on the HUD product page.

The new wire harness seems to be working fine on my 2019. The settings in the picture are still on in kilometers (that's why the speed does not match), but easily changed to MPH after hitting center button/right arrow.

The install was easy enough to test the unit. I followed the instructions in the Rav4 video.

    20220120_144203.jpg

It's quite possible the add-a-fuse is a consolation prize for playing. :notsure: Although, the unit does take a few seconds to power down after ignition is cut, which is actually nice to check if doors are closed, etc

This HUD is almost becoming my new favorite mod! :rocket:

    Time to come clean.

My name is Grizzled Bastard and I bought a KTJO 4X4 :puke:product!

Fellow members here busted me in the BST as I purchased a BNIB Grab Handle. Though I didn't have to deal with KTJO 4X4 :puke: corporate, I will be enjoying the trials and tribulations of installation.

The great thing is members have already started reaching out to assist me through this new chapter in my life. I can hardly wait to get it!

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. There I was, one morning last week at about 4:30 AM sitting here and happened on a post where someone had installed bowl lights....and I yielded to temptation finding that the site had been fixed to allow you to select Access or Double Cab.

But, like all of my KTJO 4X4 stories, it doesn't end there. In my uncaffeinated haste I placed my order......only to realize that I had not selected Ice Blue and ordered Blue. CRAP! I even victimized myself.

After another cup of coffee I thought, let's try to change the order. So, I went to the page where you can contact them. For example, it says you can cancel an order with no charge if you notify them within 24 hours. I sent of the message requesting a switch to blue. No response. Several days later the lights shipped....blue of course. They arrived today dashing the last possibility that they did see the note and swapped the lights. Blue.

So, in the end, I punished myself for the transgression, Father. Now to decide whether to install the Blue lights or sell them and go through the temptation again to order a set of Ice Blue.
