Yeah, I always back in unless I'm in a big hurry. It makes getting out faster, safer and easier.

Easier to see when you go to leave, quick escape. It's also easier to not kill small predestrians. Try backing up in a Chevy Avalanche, you can't see anyone under 5ft tall unless you have distance between them.

My Step Dad used to yell at me for backinng my truck in the driveway because "only people who are tying to hide do that".

I used to back in everywhere... Ever since corporate put out a mandate that all employees are required to back into parking spaces, I quit... Just not a conformist.

I back in because it's easier. And because in the ambulance, we back in for a quick response and it's now a habit. My girlfriend haaaaates it.

I dont back in. i pull through. If that means i must park light years away from the entrance then so be it. Sometimes i like to play the see how many parking spaces i can take up game. then it is super easy to leave

For me it's just easier, I stayed in a apt for a few months and nobody backed in ,then I came and started backing in and soon other residents were backing in, I was a trend setter

And I'm the jerk that will park a quarter inch from you and still be in my spot, just because. Preferably on your driver's side.

I think that's a dum question. You a have to back up either for when parking or leaving.

i almost always back in to a parking spot. i'm a better parker when i back in and i do it for the reasons already discussed...easy to get out, easy to get in to a tight spot...oh and i personally think my truck looks prettier that way :)

because tacomas look better from the front, it shows off the heavy duty bumper, it protects rear cargo, and its easier to jump if need be. (not like you will ever need to jump a toyota)

Drive a dually with a girlfriend who loves shopping at the mall, and you will know why. I did that for 3 yrs and it is so much easier to turn it in. I still do it even though my taco is half the size of the dually.

You guys who back into stalls like I often do-don't you find it more "natural" in many cases to do so?
    A Crown-Vic has a 114" wheelbase and is 212" long
My 2001 DC has 122" wheelbase and is 202" long
You 2nd-gen guys have 127.4" wheelbase and are 221.3" long! That's getting into limo territory!
I think it's a matter of what feels right too. Look at the diff in wheelbase lengths between the 2nd gen and the Crown-Vic-which is a fullsize car! IMO the 2nd gen Tacoma is a frikkin railcar:D

It started for me at a place of work where it was required. You'd be ticketed if you pulled in nose-first. This was for safety reasons due to large trucks moving through the lot. I still do it, though.

    - Safety: when you back out, you can't as easily spot pedestrians or the moron who is going 50 in a parking lot.
    - Convenience: I'd rather put the effort in up front so I can leave faster.
    - Utility: If I have to jump this thing, it ain't going to be a great day for me. Pulling in nose-first would only make it worse.
    - Ease of parking: Once I got used to it, I find it much easier to park well backward.

Had to jump my wife's corolla last weekend. Just sayin'. Better to plan for the worst and hope for the best.
