Im about ready to assemble my coil overs, wish I had spent the extra $100 on the pre assembled coil overs, lesson learned.

but where do I set the lock rings for the 2.5" lift with the constant load springs?

 

I have the constant load springs and these are where mine are sitting at 22.25" hub to fender, so you might go an extra .125" or .25". Just went and took these, hope they help.

 

I need to double check my boxes and see if there’s a spec sheet in with the shocks.

also looking at getting a u bolt flip kit since I might as well do it while I’m in there. Maybe?

 

I should add that I have about 200lbs of bumper and winch in the front FYI. But I also did the timbren U bolt flip when I swapped the leafs out. I did have to order new U bolts from wheeler's because I got the U bolt flip kit used, and the previous user cut the bolts too short for the ironman leafs. I can't say if the U bolts that come with the flip kit work with the ironman leafs.

 

These pictures and measurements are WAY easier when everything is laid out in the living room! HAHA

Here is my contribution. Rough measurements from hub to fender are 22.5-23"

After looking into it, I think my passenger side (2nd pic) is running about 1/2" higher than my driver side.
Although the gas tank is near empty so that may be a bit of it. Didn't notice it until I started milling around with the tape measure...

How much excess is left with the timbren kit? I was looking for bump stops but the whole kit seems like a nice simple swap.

 

I have the "performance" leafs, but there's plenty of extra threads. I don't have a pic, but if your looking at the timbren bumps, the threads stick out a little less than half the rubber (and no, I don't have any spots on the frame where the bolts impacted it). I did use U bolts from wheeler's though, so I'm not sure how long the U bolts are that come with the kit.

I plan on getting under next week to do my skid plate so I'll take a look. I think I'd be okay with just the bump stops though. Thanks for sharing!

 

How long did it take you guys to install your stage 2 kits? I'm hoping to do it less then 8-9 hours.. is this realistic?

 

I think it is if everything goes well and more so if you have a helper and everything ready before you get started.

 

@GHOST SHIP got my entire kit done (and a cab mount chop!) in about four hours. Dude is a beast.

It would've taken me 2-3 days but I would've purposely been going really slow on account of a bad back and being a noob. I think 8-9 hours is totally reasonable if you've got the tools you need, a friend to help wrestle with the leaf packs, and the know-how.

 

I have to do it in 2 days tops. I don't really have a choice...

 

I planned for mine to be 2 days so broke it into front-day 1, rear-day 2 and that worked great. I was able to drive it to the store after finishing day one no problem, even if I did feel a bit goofy……. No issues mechanically.
With full set up and clean up it was about 4-5 hours each day going at a steady carefully pace.
The longest part of the process for me was a necessary body-cutting to get the passenger-side UCA bolt out; there was just NO WAY to get it out otherwise for me but I know others have had fewer probs with it. I suspect each individual truck is different, depending on how the body and frame lined up in production.

 

So I got this away bar spacer kit do you guys mount that? Wasn't on the video instructions or I can't find it online

 

You should have two of those. Pretty easy to instal but like you I had no idea. Once I disconnected the sway bar and looked at it, it made sense. So once you take the sway mat mount off, that’s going to bolt up, there should be some countersunk screws that will go in there to mount to frame in same location. Once that’s done, the sway bar mount bolts to that spacer. There are more holes than needed since it can be used for a few different allocations. Does that make sense?

the thing that’s gonna take the longest is the UCA. In your first post I over look that. But if there are two of you working on the instal, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. A lot is just remove and replace, pretty easy stuff, if everything goes well…. The UCA on the other hand, could be easy or a PItA…
